Let’s be honest, it has been an extremely rainy May across the country. However, a little rain cannot stop the magic of a Disney vacation. With helpful tips from the Disney Parks Moms Panelists and a poncho of your liking, even the rainiest of days at Walt Disney World Resort can be the best days ever.

Tabitha will tell you, some of her family’s best Disney days have been spent in the rain. “The crowds are sometimes lower because of the weather, but we just bring our ponchos (these are also available for purchase in the theme parks) and continue enjoying our adventure. And I’m happy to report that the rain doesn’t limit much activity at ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth.’”

Panelists also like to remind Guests that all four theme parks do have indoor attractions. When asked about the weather and its effect on the parks, Lindsey P. gave a great list of attractions you can enjoy inside at Magic Kingdom Park. A few of her favorites include “it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight and Haunted Mansion.

While guests can enjoy many indoor attractions, a little one’s stroller must stay outside. For this reason, Missy recommends packing a rain cover for your stroller, or at least covering it with a poncho. “I will never forget the time we came out of our dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table to find that our two double strollers were completely soaked. Oops!” That is one mistake she has never made again.

A day filled with showers is also a great time to try a new experience, like taking your princess to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Ashley P. recommends either location at Disney Springs or Magic Kingdom Park. This magical transformation is one your princess, and you, will never forget.

  • Our last trip to the to the Magic Kingdom it rained at 2 pm almost like clockwork so we would always keep an eye on the time! Our favorite spot to end up at every day when the rain hit was the Tiki Room. If you catch it just right, when the really big downpours come in, the cue line is the best place with the fountain and the fire and the added water coming in from the roof of the cue line it just makes the pre-show more magical. Also, you are not very far away from the entrance to Pirates and by the time the Tiki Room show is over the line for Pirates is near nothing.

  • Ummm…. to visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique you almost have to have a reservation. You can almost never find availability if you just walk in. Reservation slots fill up very quickly, especially in the Magic Kingdom & reservations begin 180 days prior to your arrival. Long before you know if it will rain on your day in Magic Kingdom.
