UPDATE 5/21 – There is a limited number of guest reservations for the new After Fireworks Dessert Party to ensure that everyone viewing fireworks from the Plaza Garden area will have plenty of space and great views that we know are so important.

Do you love fireworks? Do you love dessert? Are you a fan of MAGIC? Well then I have good news for you! Due to the popularity of the Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom Park, there will now be an additional option – the After Fireworks Dessert Party starting on May 28.

Now you can experience the legendary fireworks over Cinderella Castle from a special viewing area in the Plaza Garden, and afterwards, head on over to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant and indulge in a delicious array of all-you-care-to-enjoy desserts!

On the menu for this sweet experience are treats inspired by each of the lands of Magic Kingdom Park. Among the offerings are the S’mores Action Station (Frontierland), Pineapple Delights (Adventureland), Ooey Gooey Toffee Cakes (Liberty Square), Macarons (Fantasyland), a Cookie Table (Tomorrowland), and Strawberry Tarts (Main Street U.S.A.).

  • I was just able to reserve for July 4th thru the wdw-dine phone number.

  • Satin- You may want to try again, I called last evening and was able to book it for our trip this summer.

  • I have called every day since the release date of May 17th, to try to book July 3rd. Each CM has told me that they aren’t able to make reservations for the After the Fireworks Dessert party yet. 2 CM’s went as far as to go and look at existing reservations and told me there are no reservations for it yet so they can confirm it has not been released as expected. Is there a reason for the delay or a new release date?

  • I am VERY concerned about this – we did this last year and the garden space was perfect for viewing the show. However, if you are doubling the numbers so that both before and after viewing guests are admitted to the area, that will make it far too crowded and basically negate the reason for booking this! We are taking my sister this year and it will be her first viewing of these particular fireworks, hence booking the dessert party in order to enable her to view the show in an uncrowded area, with the best view – but this won’t be possible if there are twice the number of guests in there! Please clarify how this will work, or I may need to cancel the booking.

  • I too would like an answer. I have 2 parties already booked for October and I’m coming from California. I attended the desert party last October and it was great but doubling the amount of people would have made it not so.

  • I’ve been trying to book for July 4th since they announced call in reservations and there is nothing listed according to reservationists for July 3rd or 4th. Even the Disney Blog states a special dessert selection for July 3rd & 4th, but it can’t be booked so far.

  • Mr Dunlap,
Can you please clarify how this process will work with the existing parties and viewing areas? Will both groups (before fireworks and after fireworks) be expected to squeeze into the present viewing areas? Your last answer wasn’t helpful or clear. Before we spend our money, we would like to know what to expect. Thank you.

  • Hi. I am concerned. I have 2 dessert parties booked. July 3 & July 8. I called everyday from my 180 mark to get both reservations. I booked these parties to provide my 78 year old mother in an EVC comfort (less crowds). Now this is available. How will change the crowd situation in the Plaza Garden? How will this change the seating? How will this change the folks entering the Plaza Garden before the fireworks?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

  • I have the same concerns as everyone else. Will this result in overcrowding of the area? Will it still be limited to the overall number as before? I think I will watch the various reviews and decide on keeping my July reservation based on that feedback.

  • Hello,

I’m also inquiring about the location of reserved fireworks viewing in the Plaza area for both the Before and After dessert parties. I have booked the original party for June and now I’m concerned that I will need to switch to the After viewing party to be able to still get a good spot.

Unsure as to how to proceed. I feel like I’ll need to rush through the dessert section of the party to hurry over to the plaza. I felt it was worth the upcharge to have both the treats and the reserved & uncrowded viewing area. Kinda bummed, honestly…

  • Mr. Dunlap, your response to Steven above does not answer his question. We did the party last week, and the plaza area was really nice because we weren’t overcrowded. Most children could see without being placed on a parent’s shoulders and blocking our view. It was great. Adding more people certainly would increase the crowd and decrease the value, unless, of course, the number of tickets sold for the before party is decreased. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you.

  • What if we booked the party before the announcement for July 3rd? Will we be upgraddd to the new standard?

  • I was about to purchase tickets for the original pre-fireworks dessert party. I’ve heard its a great way to get some extra space to watch the fireworks. So now the viewing area is going to be twice as crowded? AND the price is higher? I don’t understand how this is a good thing.

  • Isn’t adding more people to the Plaza viewing area an issue? What about the people who are doing the dessert BEFORE the fireworks? Do they get worse standing locations because they were eating while people doing this package get in early to get a better viewing area??

    • Hi Steven! We know that your comfort is an important element to the Fireworks Dessert Party. The Plaza Garden is a wonderful location for fireworks viewing and will continue to be a great experience for all of our Guests.

  • will be in the same viewing area as the pre-fireworks dessert party or if it will be in a different section?

  • This looks great! Will the fireworks viewing area be expanded or will guests from both the before and after parties be in the same viewing area?
