On May 19, 2018, the doors will open at 5 p.m. and the first glass of wine will be poured at the grand opening of Wine Bar George, the latest addition to the dynamic food and beverage scene at Disney Springs. The following day, May 20, Wine Bar George will open at 11 a.m. for its normal daily service hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
As we previously posted, the restaurant’s namesake, George Miliotes, is a Master Sommelier – one of only 249 in the world. Wine Bar George is the only wine bar in Florida owned by a Master Sommelier and will offer more than 130 selections by the ounce, glass, and bottle in a range of varietals, vintages, and prices.
This 200-seat wine bar is centrally located at The Landing. Guests can enjoy indoor seating with ambience reminiscent of a winemaker’s home or enjoy the sights and sounds of Disney Springs on the terrace with its sweeping views of The Landing and the waterfront stage.
Looking to dine al fresco at Disney Springs? The Basket at Wine Bar George will offer European-style sandwiches, cheese, olives, hummus, charcuterie, cookies, and wines on tap—served to-go by the glass or carafe.
Walk-ins are always welcome, and reservations for Wine Bar George will be available May 25 for bookings starting on June 25, 2018.
Cheers to George and the entire Wine Bar George team!
I’m all for celebrating and partaking, but it seems that spirits and such are overtaking the parks and Disney Springs. I know it has a high revenue enhancement but maybe we should focus on the family fare style places as well…
I believe Disney is doing a great job at enhancing experiences for all people. I travel with my family there twice a year and I am impressed. It is always evolving and they seem to be listening to their audience. We travel the world and Disney remains the most family-friendly destination. They are very careful about that, which I appreciate. Take note on the changes they make on the alcohol-free restaurants, as well. As mentioned above, they are always evolving. I am personally very excited to see a wine bar opening at Disney Springs. They have worked hard to create a space with great shopping and wonderful, diverse food and drink options. I have been very impressed and cant wait to go back.
We arrive on Sat, May 19th. This is definitely on our “to do”list!
I can not wait for this, very exciting. I hope the price points are reasonable.
Marilla, I completely see your point, especially since Magic Kingdom was once dry and now there seems to be more options to drink. However, I think Wine Bar George is perfectly placed in Disney Springs. There is an abundance of family friendly places throughout Walt Disney World and I think it’s nice that they are offering some options that appeal to adults only. I have friends without children who would highly enjoy an experience like this. I’ve also travelled without children and it’s nice to be at my favorite place (Disney World) and enjoy some adult time as well. There are a lot of great family friendly places in Disney Springs including Blaze, Art Smith’s Homecomin’, D-Luxe Burger, Earl of Sandwich, Planet Hollywood, RainForest Cafe, and T-Rex. I know what you mean though, it does seem like a lot of adult friendly places are opening, especially since Disney Springs is catering to shoppers, who are likely adults, but I think they are trying to build a balance between all types of people that visit.
