New Mickey-Shaped Bunkers Come to Life at Two Walt Disney World Resort Golf Courses

Our friends at Disney Golf are continuing their plans to create more Mickey-shaped sand bunkers on our Walt Disney World Resort golf courses. They just completed one at our Lake Buena Vista course, matching the original one that’s been on No. 6 at the Magnolia course for more than 40 years.

This latest one was etched out on the No. 9 hole at Lake Buena Vista. It sits on the rear of the green and it’s easy to see as you’re rounding the green. A week or so before, a Mickey bunker was added to the No. 9 green on our Oak Trail course. You can see that one from the fairway and from the No. 1 tee box.

Here’s a time-lapsed video of the creation of the Mickey bunker on Oak Trail:

Next up is the Palm course. I’m not sure exactly what cool, new look you’re going to see there. We are working with the Arnold Palmer Golf Management team, which does a great job of running our Disney golf courses, on some unique concepts. Stay tuned for more details on that.

In the meantime, now is a great time to get in a round of golf at any of our four courses at Walt Disney World Resort. Just call (407) WDW-GOLF or go to www.golfwdw.com to book a tee time.
