Earlier this month, I shared some of my favorite ways to celebrate your favorite princess at Disney Springs. Over the weekend, nearly a dozen young girls visited the property and had the chance to experience the magic firsthand. I was thrilled to be part of it!
What I loved most about the day was hearing how Disney Princesses have inspired these young dreamers to be adventurous, pursue their passions, and follow their dreams. They used adjectives like, “smart, brave and kind” to describe their favorite Disney heroines, and it was clear those words described the group, and their moms and dads, too.
Not only did they get transformed at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but they also enjoyed watching Disney’s “Princess and the Frog” at AMC Theatre as part of a limited-engagement princess Movie Marathon now through Oct. 18.
Check out the video below to catch a glimpse of their inspiring day, perfectly timed to help celebrate the latest “Dream Big, Princess” campaign, which uses the stories of fictional heroines – like Moana and Tiana, and real-life role models – to encourage kids around the globe to follow their dreams.
As part of the latest campaign, a new series of digital shorts puts the next generation of female storytellers behind the camera to tell the stories of inspirational women. From October 10 – November 20, 2018, for each like or share of a public video or photo with #DreamBigPrincess on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, Disney Worldwide Services will donate US $1 to Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s program supporting girls’ leadership and empowerment (minimum donation: $500,000/maximum donation: $1 million).
Which Disney Princess inspires you most? Share in the comments below, I’d love to know!

How about the Princes? Don’t our little sons deserve to see some male characters with integrity and be role models for the boys of society?
Since becoming a father to my daughter four years ago, I feel I have sufficient “daddy” experience to answer Darcy’s question– Belle. Belle exhibits the strength of character in the face of daunting odds, inner beauty that anyone can come to admire, and a love for her father so strong that she was willing to trade her life for her father’s life. On equal footing with Belle (yes this dad couldn’t choose just one!) is Sofia the First. With the many lessons she garners from her Disney Princess friends, Sofia blossoms into the most wonderful of princesses, always knowing just how to be a perfect princess. And with Sofia the First’s young age, she is the perfect role model for young girls. From this daddy and his dear daughter, thank you Disney for all the Disney Princesses!
