Behind-the-Scenes: Decorating the Disneyland Resort for Halloween Time

Shannon Swanson

by , Public Relations Manager, Disneyland Resort

If you’ve had a chance to visit the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time, it’s not hard to miss the giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern on Main Street, U.S.A in Disneyland park or the eerie Headless Horseman on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park.

However, what you may not have noticed at first glance is the fine detailed décor prepared by our resort enhancement team. While working the graveyard shift, these talented tricksters transform all of the window displays along both streets into spooky Halloween-themed scenes. The team is also responsible for enhancing many of the restaurants and shops at the Disneyland Resort with touches of the seasonal spirit.

Check out the video below to get a glimpse at how we bring Halloween magic to life!

  • Is there a typo – “it’s not hard to miss the giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern,” I think it’d be very hard to miss this seasonal icon!

  • I miss the fun activities back at Big Thunder Ranch. That was always so much fun for the kids and adults to be able to play games, color, listen to entertainment, meet characters and so much more. I hope Disneyland finds an area to use for something like this. It’s these things that make Disney so special.

  • The windows displays are always my favorite! I love the detail and the story they tell. Amazing work to all who bring them to life!

  • Hey Shannon another great video!

Can you also do another video of Behind the Scenes Decorating the Disneyland Resort during the Holiday’s! Thanks!
