Disney Dreamers Academy (DDA) organizers recently held the first ever “100 Minutes To Empower Your Dreams” seminar at the Schomburg Center in Harlem, NY. It was a high energy night kicked off with a warm welcome from Mickey Mouse and hosted by Disney Dreamers Academy executive champion Tracey Powell. She, along with motivational speakers Jonathan Sprinkles and Brandi Harvey, who are members of the Academy’s Speakers Resource Group, along with Essence Magazine fashion and beauty director Julee Wilson delivered inspirational stories to an audience of students and parents about the importance of pursuing dreams and shared tips on how to make those dreams a reality. Kayla Jackson (class of 2013) and Avery Davis (class of 2011) also took to the stage and shared how participating in DDA changed their lives and taught them how to put their goals into action! The crowd also learned details about the Disney Dreamers Academy program which is a 4-day all-expenses-paid immersive and transformative experience for high school students held annually in March at Walt Disney World Resort.
