Seating setup of The Tropical Hideaway, Disneyland park

This exotic marketplace is the go-to destination for discovering extraordinary eats from all corners of the world. Learn more about the appetizing goods in our story here. Set along the Jungle River waterfront, it’s also the perfect spot to sit and relax in between adventures—perhaps with a refreshing Dole Whip! After sunset, flickering torchlights add to the evening ambiance.

Travelers can reach The Tropical Hideaway across its main bridge, through Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room or along “Skipper’s Walk,” a pathway leading from the Jungle Cruise loading dock.

Birdhouses atop The Tropical Hideaway, Disneyland park

Colorful wildlife can also be found at the Hideaway. The stars of the Enchanted Tiki Room live in small birdhouses that dot the roofline, each personally labeled. Can you spot them?

Rosita the cockatoo

One cockatoo who has packed up her bags and spreading her wings is Rosita. As she waits on the dock for her boat to arrive, this friendly bird makes small talk with visitors!

  • I am so excited for this! This project is one of the best uses of existing space Disney has made in a while!

  • Can’t wait for it to open. Went to the Tahitian terrace years ago , I will return!

  • As i heard will at Disneyland this past week it could open as soon as this weekend but remember its only a rumor

  • What’s new was old – back in the 60s there was a nice sit-down tropical restaurant there. Sort of ranked with The Blue Bayou. Had my very first Monte Cristo sandwich there – yummy! Glad to hear it’s back.

  • Any word yet on when the Tangaroa Terrace refurbishment at the Disneyland Hotel will be finished?

  • This will help pull guests out of the crowded center of Adventureland and greatly improve guest flow in addition to providing an interesting and relaxing place to just sit down, grab a bite to eat and relax and enjoy the ambiance. I love the extension of the tiki room story.

  • Such an excellent use of that underused area in a very crowded part of the park! can’t wait to sample the food on offer on our next trip! Kind of like a tropical fancy food court!!! lol!

  • Oh dang, that looks great! Dare I dream such a thing could come to Orlando?
