When my teammates and I learned that this year’s Epcot International Festival of the Arts would find four Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise veterans performing together on stage to conclude the festival’s Disney on Broadway Concert Series, we immediately started making plans to reunite with our old friends. And because these reunions are always more fun with Members in attendance, we decided to turn our little gathering into what promises to be another memorable Membership Magic event.
As you may have heard, the stars performing together at Epcot on Feb. 25 include Ashley Brown (Broadway’s original Mary Poppins), Josh Strickland (Broadway’s original Tarzan), Alton Fitzgerald White (Broadway’s record-breaking Lion King, with 4,308 performances as Mufasa) and Kissy Simmons (known to many Disney fans for her standout performances as Nala in “The Lion King”). All four of these performers have gained a friendly following around the Disney Vacation Club neighborhood, with numerous Member Cruise credits on their resumes. (If business trips counted as Castaway Club voyages, this group could be Platinum on Member Cruise voyages alone.)
To bring the Epcot International Festival of the Arts to a close in distinctive fashion on Feb. 25, Disney Vacation Club has created a Disney on Broadway Dessert Party for Members and their guests. Attendees will enjoy guaranteed seating at one of the evening’s Disney on Broadway concerts at the America Gardens Theatre and an 8:30-9:30 p.m. fireworks dessert party in the United Kingdom Pavilion before mingling with the Disney on Broadway stars during a casual cocktail hour (9:30-10:30 p.m.) in the Member Lounge atop the Imagination! Pavilion.
The cost per person is $77 (plus tax and gratuity) for adults and $52 (plus tax and gratuity) for children. Please note that paid Epcot admission also is required and event check-in will be at the Member Lounge podium from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Call Member Services beginning Jan. 8 at (800) 800-9800 for details and reservations, and get ready to celebrate with the stars!
