After a dazzling 20-year run, we will bid a fond farewell to “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” at Epcot on September 30, 2019. So come and gather around World Showcase Lagoon this summer to enjoy this breathtaking display of lasers, lights and fireworks, as we get ready to launch two new nighttime spectaculars as part of the park’s unprecedented, multi-year transformation.

Debuting October 1, 2019, “Epcot Forever” will be an all-new, limited-time spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers and choreographed, special effects kites. The show will take us on a journey through the past, present and future of Epcot. Featuring a stirring collection of songs that paint a colorful picture of the park, this nighttime extravaganza will offer both a trip down memory lane and a look towards the future and all the magical possibilities still to come.

Disney Parks Live Entertainment is busy getting “Epcot Forever” ready for its opening day. Show Director Alan Bruun recently shared some details about the concept behind the show and the team’s collaboration with noted conductor and composer Don Harper, who is producing new arrangements of classic Epcot tunes to weave into the soundtrack of “Epcot Forever.”

“Epcot Forever” will continue into 2020, when the next epic nighttime extravaganza makes its debut. Keep reading Disney Parks Blog in the months ahead for more on both those shows and all the other new experiences on the way to “Wow!” guests, while keeping true to the original vision of this amazing park.

  • Wow! This is really fantastic news, I’m looking forward to hearing Epcot Forever’s amazing soundtrack.

  • Looks great!! Too bad it’s only a temporary show, Epcot Forever looks like a spectacular show that should be permanent!!

  • Disney will always be better than Universal!! Way to go Disney!!

  • Anyone else notice that the music at the end of the preview (1:13) was the music for Tapestry of Dreams?

  • My favorite Epcot Nighttime Spectacular happened in 2015, in November. My husband and I took our 2yo son and my mother, and one day of our 6 day trip, my husband and I had a mommy and daddy date day in Epcot… just us. It was not just our son’s first time, but was my husband’s first time ever to visit a Disney Park. After dinner, (which my husband still talks about today being one of the best meals he’s tasted,) we walked from the restaurant to the waterside for the Nighttime Spectacular. I remember him, holding me from behind as we watched. Both of us were nearing our 40s and feeling like children. And as the show played on over the water, I heard my husband sniffle. I could tell he was trying to hold in emotional tears he didn’t think he had in him. My husband grew up in a family that doesn’t believe or want magic (especially Disney magic) in their lives. And despite being raised so seriously and skeptical of feeling real happiness, he fell in love and married me—the women who believes in fairies, Disney Magic, mermaids, and a small world worth embracing and seeing for its beautiful and eclectic tastes and beauty. That night, my husband was touched by magic, and finally understood the message behind the mouse. Epcot was a date filled with unexpected wonders. Some day, I plan to take my husband back (just the two of us,) and remind him it wasn’t just any ol’ memory or dream… but one his heart made. What makes Disney Magic so real, is it’s fans holding a piece of that magic in our hearts. When that is brought together and set free—anything is possible. Even a 47yo man who was taught from a young age that Disney was pointless, can be reduced to a child for a moment, see the magic through the eyes of his childhood, and walk away believing, just maybe, he was all wrong about magic. After all… seeing is believing. ❤️

  • Oh my goodness I am soooo excited to see this! I just know it will be spectacular and that I will cry so much! What with this AND the opening of Galaxy’s Edge it sure is a bumper year for WDW ❤️

  • @Jenai, right straight into the feels. What a great story, thanks for sharing.

  • are they still going to have the dessert parties at EPCOT?
