Disney After Hours has been a huge success with guests looking for the opportunity to experience the magic at Magic Kingdom Park after the sun goes down. Today, I’m excited to share a new reason to delve into the delights of Disney After Hours this summer – Disney Villains will add a wicked twist to Disney After Hours event nights June 6-August 8!

In case you aren’t familiar, Disney After Hours is a special event that’s open to a limited number of guests and offers low wait times at more than 20 attractions and experiences after the park closes to day guests, from classics like the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain, to newer favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, plus many more. Event tickets also allow entry as early as 7 p.m., which gives you time to enjoy fireworks before heading off to the attractions. Ice cream novelties, popcorn and select bottled beverages are also included in the cost of admission.

‘Disney After Hours’ at Magic Kingdom Park

This summer, Disney Villains After Hours will take on a wickedly fun villains theme, with exclusive entertainment, food & beverage, merchandise and more.

Here’s a taste of what new elements to expect:

  • A Brand-New Disney Villains Stage Show – Hades and Meg from “Hercules” will set the castle stage ablaze in this all-new stage show, Villains Unite the Night, which will also feature appearances by Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent.
  • Spot Maleficent the Dragon  Maleficent the Dragon, with her Steampunk style and signature wicked grin, will be let loose for the first time at night – breathing fire as she creeps through the park as a one-of-a-kind experience for party guests.
  • Villanous Enhancements: Discover surprising, villain-inspired additions at Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain.
  • Wickedly Good Food & Beverage -A variety of special food & beverage offerings will also be available for purchase, including tasty desserts, drinks and dishes inspired by The Queen, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Hades, Dr. Facilier and even Emperor Zurg.
  • Event Merchandise – Event attendees can also purchase new logo merchandise, as well as items from a curated collection of the best Disney Villains merchandise available.
  • One Notorious Item to Note: Ever driven to stand out in their unpredictable and audacious fashion, while the Villains will be entertaining guests in the new stage show, they will not be participating in character greetings during the event.

If you really wanna get in on the action, feel free to show off your sinister side by dressing in attire inspired by your favorite baddie.

Comments

  • We are gonna check this out as it will be our first time in florida and my youngest’s birthday on 7/4 and my oldest who has been a previous M.A.W child( although we didn’t do a Disney trip )
We have the photo pass and we’re
Really hoping for character meet/greets. So if cast members; the powers that be can possibly accommodate this, it would be Fairy Dust come
    To life!

  • Does anyone know what time the show starts at the castle? I have tickets and I want to make sure that I get there in time.

  • It’s pretty clear from the foregoing posts that you need some villain character meet and greets. I’m in but you have time to make that happen and you should. That’s what us villain fans are clamoring for! Do the right thing for all us “wrong” people!!! Villains have a passionate fan base too! 😈

  • I was going to make a trip to WDW just for this until I spoke with my travel agent and she explained there were no meet and greets. For me it’s just not worth it. Maybe next time there will be some ^_^

  • Any chance of dates getting extended? I would love to do this but won’t be down until late August 🙁

  • I’m in agreement with most here, while it sounds like a great time as with all extra Disney events, no meet and greet at all?!?!? Even a select few would be enough to make it worth the trip!

  • Can you get into the park at 7p.m., or just get in line to be let in at 10p.m.?

  • I was absolutely going to talk my husband into going this summer specifically for this event until I saw no Meet and Greets. Not worth it to spend all the money in the trip right now without that. I guess it’s money saved for me this summer!

  • Do you know if there will be access to Star Wars land during these times? I believe it will be added by summer, that would definitely be a great perk.

  • I’m very sad about no meet and greets. I was so excited about this event until I read that part. I really wish Disney would reconsider this aspect.

  • As a out of state passholder I too was so excited to see this event posted and then hit the bottom no meet and greets. Not any Disney? Really? All the baddies are in the stage show? Not likely. We just got back from a 8 day trip, I would have easily booked a special trip for this, I haven’t ruled it out, but had there been meet and greets I would have already pulled that resort reservation trigger. Sigh… 😢

  • Maybe after reading the comments they’ll reconsider meet and greets. I’ll be at WDW third week in July and would have gone but like everyone else is saying, the value just isn’t there. Missed opportunity for sure.

  • We are going for shorter wait times, so I don’t mind being without meet and greets. Wondering, however, why the cost is several dollars more per person than other after hours events when it looks like the exact same?

  • Add the meet and greet, Disney. It’s ridiculous to have a villains night if you can’t get pictures with the villains. I was super excited until I saw the end of the article.

  • Umm…the whole point (for me) is an opportunity to get character greetings/photos WITH THE VILLAINS. I mean, what’s the incentive to go then? A show? Disney…come on…eat a Snickers bar….this isn’t you. I think you’ll find that the majority of folks want photo ops with the villains. Maybe make some changes for next year, yeah? Sounds like you’d have a LOT more people going.

  • The non-villain after hour events are described as “little to no wait times.” The villains event states low wait times. Are more tickets being sold for the villains? I want to avoid the large crowds like those at the Halloween and Christmas parties. Thank you.

  • To all those asking what the dates and times are, go to the main After Hours page

Based on that page, looks like the dates will be
    Thursday, June 6, 2019
    Thursday, June 13, 2019
    Thursday, June 20, 2019
    Thursday, June 27, 2019
    Monday, July 1, 2019
    Thursday, July 11, 2019
    Thursday, July 18, 2019
    Thursday, July 25, 2019
    Thursday, August 1, 2019
    Thursday, August 8, 2019

And the time for each one is 10pm – 1am

Regarding the no meet and greets, I agree it’s a missed opportunity and slight miscalculation… With that said being only $14 more compared to the regular After Hour’s at MK it’s a no brainer for my wife and I. We’ve been to 2 of these at MK and they have been the best times at MK we’ve had. There is no way you can’t have fun when at these types of events. I won’t be surprised though if Disney rethinks this decision and adds the meet and greets.

  • I think this ia great, just wish this could be a little something extra you could purchase during October. Hopefully Disney announces something really cool for After Hours during the Fall season, if we even get After Hours that is.

  • Was super excited to see this.. then I shed tears.. only Thursday’s and one Monday!! As a passholder we usually do weekend trips ( Friday night-Sunday’s) Just heartbreaking!

  • Loved the Animal Kingdom after hours, despite to 40 degree night.
Had my card out to order tickets, THEN saw NO MEET & GREETS! :-0

Not worth the extra cost. So bummed.
Disney has REALLY MISSED THE BOAT here!!!

  • The regular free bottled drinks, ice cream, and popcorn will still be included. The specific villain’s food will be for sell. July 1st instead of July 4th. No meet and greet sux but the Dragon at night and just seeing them is worth it as a AP holder.

  • This sounded great until I got to where it said there would be no meet and greets. What a disappointing choice you’ve made there.

  • No included snacks like the other after hour events? I would rather have the included Mickey. Bars & beverages.

  • Why aren’t some of the food items included like they are for the other after hours events? Also no meet and greet really makes it hard to justify spending the extra money! Please reconsider that perk!

  • No shirt, No shoes, No Villain greetings… No Dice!

  • Meet and greet is a must! Need awesome photos PLEASE other wise I just can’t justify the extra $556 for our family plus tax.

  • Dates please! I need to make flight reservations. I’m NOT going to miss this!!!

  • Not if they won’t be having the villains out for meet and greets.

You know how popular and in-demand villain meet and greets are. It’s time to make them available for daily meet and greets like at Disneyland the overseas parks–it’s long overdue.

  • I absolutely love the Villains and I really enjoy the smaller crowd levels that an after hours events offers. With that being said, once I realized that the characters will not be greeting guests, I decided this will not be my event. I got so excited for just a bit though!

  • Disney Villains is a HUGE deal to me & I was super excited that the dates fell on our summer vaca, but once I read no meet & greats it was a big turn off. It just isn’t worth the extra money to do rides I get on any other day, “special” food & merchandise I have to spend more money & a villainous show that’ll be a couple of minutes. It just makes more sense spend the money on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween instead.

  • I really think you should reconsider the meet and greets.

  • Definitely wanted to attend until I read the part about no character greetings. No deal.

  • I think this is great, but Disney still has not published after hours dates for Magic Kingdom. I can’t even buy a ticket for June 6th because your website is not updated yet. This is less than two months away and you haven’t even published dates yet. What’s going on Disney??

  • Have the dates been released yet or do we have to wait til April 29th for that information too?

  • Sounds like a fun addition to after hours events, even if no meet and greet is a bit of a bummer. I still miss Club Villain though! Something closer to that would get me to drop everything and book a summer trip.

  • With this comment…. “they will not be participating in character greetings during the event.” …. sorry but no thanks. Unless you are going to add Villains to character greetings it just doesn’t add up for me.

  • You had me….until you said no meet and greets – NOPE NOPE NOPE!

  • The first chance to meet Hades or Dr. Facilier and just yank the rug right out from under me when I get to the end…

  • Maleficent as the Dragon out at night. Sold!

  • More expensive than MNSSHP, but with way less value? No character greetings seems like a major oversight.

  • Only on Thursdays? Does that exclude July 4th?

  • “…they will not be participating in character greetings during the event.”

You had me, then you lost me.
