Some of the most impactful memories we make in our lives are made with our families, and what better way to make an impact with the ones you love than by volunteering together? Disney VoluntEARS recently created their own lasting memories through a family volunteering event supporting environmental education efforts in Orange County, CA.

More than 60 Disney VoluntEARS from Disneyland Resort took part in the event, held in conjunction with the nonprofit Inside the Outdoors that works to connect children with positive, environmental education experiences.  While there, they took part in projects restoring hiking trails, refurbishing propagation areas, making seed balls and creating science kits.

The day was capped off with a big reveal celebrating a milestone of 2 million hours of volunteer service generated by families across America through the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program!

Launched in January 2018, the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program recognizes efforts of schools and nonprofits that organize family volunteer projects for kids, adults, and every member of the family. Created in collaboration with Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, more than 86,000 families have volunteered and more than 7,000 nonprofits and schools have participated, including more than 1,000 that had never hosted family-friendly volunteer projects before. More than 10,000 family projects have been completed since January 2018, with the number continuing to grow!
