We could not be more excited for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park! The opening of this brand new, 14-acre land—the biggest single-land expansion at a Disney Park—is huge! Did you get your reservations yet? You can still get a guaranteed Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation by staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019.

If you are planning to visit during the first few weeks of the land’s opening, we have some important arrival information to share with you, including parking and theme park entry. Good news: since we have a reservation system in place, there is no need to arrive super early and line up!

As we have shared previously, we have a new parking structure, Pixar Pals, opening soon. Until then, Mickey & Friends and Toy Story will be the two primary guest parking lots. As you arrive, you will be directed to the appropriate lot, and you can always check @DisneylandToday for parking updates. Hear more from Disney Ambassador Justin Rapp in this episode of “Know Before You Go!”

After June 23, reservations are no longer required to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the Disneyland Resort will utilize a virtual queueing system, as needed, to continue to provide a great guest experience, so guests will be free to enjoy the rest of the resort while waiting to get called back to enter the land. Guests, once inside the park, will be able to request to join a boarding group to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge via the Disneyland app, or a non-technology option.

We know there is a lot of anticipation for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and with nearly 65 years of experience as the leader in themed entertainment, coupled with strategic operational planning tools put in place, and 14 additional acres of new experiences, the Disneyland Resort looks forward to continuing to provide the legendary guest experience for which is it known, this summer and beyond.

Stay tuned on the Disney Parks Blog for more information.

*Access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences is subject to capacity. After June 23, 2019, when reservations will no longer be required, access to Disneyland Park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and experiences is subject to capacity

  • A virtual queue is a fantastic idea! I really hope this technology is also used at Walt Disney World! We are going in September and am waiting in anticipation of how the huge crowds will be handled!

  • Will there be a entry gate for guest with GE reservation, like the Magic morning gates? I have 2 reservation. 1 from my stay at Disneyland Hotel and the following day from the open reservation. Midnight parking sound like fun. So many excited guests. Last week at the park I could hear the soundtrack playing from GE.

  • Hi me and my family are star wars fans, we are all, hopefully we can get in to star wars land, florida when can you make a reservation to the Starwars land, please let me know when and where I can make a reservation, please my family would be so grateful.

  • Parking lots open at midnight. So…more than one lot?

  • What time does the parking structure open on the preview days? Check-in starts at 6:00am, but when can we park?

  • After June 23rd, Will we need to purchase a ticket with Maxpass in order to use the Disneyland app for the virtual queue? Will the groups continue to be limited to 4 hours in Galaxy Edge?
