Make the Move to shopDisney and Discover Favorite Products from Disney Parks

The Disney Parks Merchandise team loves finding new ways to make the shopping experience more convenient for guests before, during and after their Disney vacation. You may recall I recently shared details about the new online reservation system for merchandise experiences at Disney Parks that makes it easier than ever to make or cancel appointments. That same spirit of improvement is now coming to the online store this month.

I’m delighted to share that shopDisney is now the one-stop, online retail destination for Disney merchandise, including merchandise from Disney Parks. As a result, we will be retiring the standalone Shop Disney Parks app on May 31, 2019.

By downloading the shopDisney app (available in the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android) or visiting shopDisney.com, you will discover an even larger selection of favorite items and beloved keepsakes from Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and more.

The site also offers options for adding personal touches to your trip down Main Street, U.S.A. including the newly introduced Disney Parks customizable T-shirts and gear.

At Walt Disney World Resort, My Disney Experience will continue offering popular shopping features guests have come to love such as the product availability map or the ability to ship select merchandise to home (U.S. addresses only) when you order through the My Disney Experience.

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members will also continue to receive eligible discounts when shopping from My Disney Experience.

If you are looking for merchandise from Disney Parks on shopDisney, I suggest these two options depending on if you are using the app or web to shop: push the “Shop” button at the bottom of the shopDisney app and look for the “Disney Parks” category, or look for the “Parks” tab on the main page of shopDisney.com.

  • Our AP discount has never worked on shopDisney or in the shopDisney app. It only works at the parks.

  • Hi Steven – I too have noticed that in the new app my AP discount is not applying. Is there an issue with the app? My accounts are all synced up, so I would assume that it would have applied. I tried different merchandise to see if it would be specific to either WDW or DLR merchandise, but nothing.

  • I am not sure why some people seem to be having trouble with the passholder discount in the MDE app. Mine applied automatically upon checkout, same as it did in the Shop Disney Parks app. I am still able to access products as before and use the availability map (though I have to say that wasn’t the most accurate tool in my recent experience). There always have been “in park only” purchases so that’s no different. I am thrilled that I only need one app on my phone now to do all the same things two did in the past! I don’t even know that I need the additional Shop Disney app since everything I want is in the MDE app!

  • I deleted the old app and updated with this new app last night. I find it more streamline – I typically check the store online and the old app daily so this makes it easier all around. I don’t have to check two separate places anymore – all in one place!! btw I am really looking forward to all the new ltd ear hats/headbands coming soon! Have it in my calendar so I don’t forget!!!

  • Will you still be able to order on line? I do not have a smart phone.

  • I liked the idea of the shop park app and getting to use your AP discount, but its seems like 75% or more items can’t be purchased and shipped. Most things listed are only available as in park purchases. That’s not beneficial to any out of town APs. I’ve been frustrated by this and I’ve rarely purchased anything through that app.

I just hope they do actually allow AP/DVC discounts on shopdisney on the same things it would apply to in parks. Regular sale discounts have so many exclusions.

  • Will we get our 20% AP and/or DVC discount on all items (like Pandora charms and Dooney and Bourke purses) like we used to on the ShopParks app? Or is that totally going away unless we are actually in a Park?

  • I really, really want my AP discount back. I have never been able to use it on the ShopDisney site. I can use the DVC discount, but that’s 10% less. Pretty please give us back the AP discount?

  • Wow. How disappointing to lose such a cool feature. I personally bought things all year when I couldn’t be at the party. Pass holders now lose the ability to apply a discount on shop Disney. This is a big loss.

  • I can’t seem to find a way to receive the AP discount when shopping from My Disney Experience. Have tried via mobile and desktop to no avail. Any tips?

  • I was starting to wonder what was going on since the app hadn’t been updated in like a whole month thanks for all the new info.
