Mission: SPACE at Epcot has been whisking guests off on an unforgettable space adventure for years now.

How well do you know this attraction? Put your knowledge to the test below!

  • We tried it the first time when it first opened and felt it was too much for us, so we appreciate the “green” mission.
I must admit orbiting the Earth isn’t as “exciting” as Mission to Mars though. It doesn’t have the excitement or thrill Mars had and Soarin’ is the way to go to view Earth. Although we go on it a couple of times when we are at EPCOT, it’s just not as fun as it was before the relaunch and rename.

  • First, I’ll note that Adolph probably got Question 4 wrong. I remember enjoying the soft opening in June 2003. Sorry, man. Second, I’ve never tried the green mission, and it never occurred to me that it wouldn’t have the same destination. I got foiled on Question 3. Thanks, that was fun.

  • Demolition on Horizons began in July 2000 and construction of Mission: SPACE only began in September 2000. Mission: SPACE opened for the first time in latter 2003.

  • In the current version of Mission Space (orange) you see the James Webb Space Telescope before you leave Earth orbit to head toward the Moon. The JWST will not be in low Earth orbit but rather at the second Lagrange Point, L2. Sufficiently nerdy people like me can’t get over this.

  • First rode this in ‘soft opening’ in October 2000….before they dropped the g-force. Liked it better then!
