Calling all world-travelers – there’s a new table-service restaurant coming to the World Showcase at Epcot! As we’ve previously announced, this new addition to the Japan pavilion will provide guests a signature dining experience inspired by the natural beauty of Japan.

Guests can enjoy a special Chef’s Table dining experience in the Water Room.

The restaurant will be named Takumi-Tei, which means house of the artisan. The design celebrates the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world, while the food is inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan. The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.

Takumi-Tei will open in the Japan pavilion at Epcot this summer and will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining), and kiosks in the Japan pavilion. The new restaurant will add to the rich tapestry of cultural experiences available to guests in World Showcase. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more information and details to be revealed!

  • Yes, please inform us of a date that ADRs can be made! We’ll be there for the Galaxy Edge opening and will need a nice break from that chaos. I think this restaurant will do the trick but I definitely want to have an ADR for it!

  • What a disappointment, no dining plans accepted, not even 2 credits like other signature restaurants.
Teppan Edo was in our top 2 at our previous visit, and I would have happily paid 2 credits each for that, so we were really looking forward to a signature restaurant from the same people.
Oh well, maybe Space 220 will be open by the time we visit in November instead….

  • Does “signature” mean it is a two table service credit restaurant? Will there be lunch and dinner?

  • Look amazing! We love the dining in Japan. What date can we make reservations?

  • If you visit the website, it only gives a link back to this article. Any idea when Takumi-Tei will begin taking reservations and when it will open?

  • I wish we had a date. So looking forward to this one.

  • Are they going to serve kaiseki course meals? That’d be exciting!!
