Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been sharing the unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Batuu with off-worlders with reservations since May 31. As this epic new land opens starting June 24, there is so much to see and do including strolling the Black Spire Outpost Marketplace, tasting blue or green milk and taking the controls of the Millennium Falcon. Here are some great tips to help you plan your visit to the far-flung destination of Batuu, beginning June 24!

Boarding Groups

For guests wishing to live out Star Wars adventures and access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge beginning June 24, Disneyland Resort may utilize a virtual queuing system, as needed, to help everyone have a great experience. Download the Disneyland app before arriving and check the app or signage the day of your visit to find out if you will need to be part of a boarding group to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that day. The boarding group will save you a virtual spot in line so you can enjoy other experiences while you wait to be notified of a time to enter.*

You may use the Disneyland app to request to be part of a boarding group after entering Disneyland park, if implemented that day. Simply link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party together on the app to request the same boarding group for your entire party. To see which boarding group is currently being admitted to the land, look on the app or digital signage in the park.

If you enable push notifications on your mobile device, you will be notified when it is time to enter the land. If not, continue to check the Disneyland app or digital signage in the park, and enjoy other experiences, while awaiting your boarding group. You have up to two hours to enter the land after your boarding group is called for admission, so there is no rush!

For guests not using the Disneyland app, a boarding group may be obtained with a park admission ticket at select Disney FASTPASS Service locations such as Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or near the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Reservations for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina

Beginning June 24, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will no longer require a reservation to access the land, although reservations are highly recommended for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina because walk-in opportunities are limited. Please visit Disneyland.com/SavisWorkshop  and Disneyland.com/Cantina for important details.

*Admission to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is subject to capacity and joining a boarding group does not guarantee entry.

  • Hi, my wife, my 8 year old son and myself (3 people ) want to build a total of 4 lightsabers. Will they let me build 2 at a time?

  • Hola

  • Great to be here

  • Thanks Mark for answering my question! Its been years since I tried but in the past I wasn’t able to link someone else’s pass to mine because it was already linked elsewhere. Glad to know it has changed!

  • I have a few questions: I will only be visiting Galaxy’s Edge this August when I go to D23. First: do I need a boarding pass to enter the land? Second: can I book the boarding pass ahead of time or is it only on the same day? Third: what if I will only be entering the park after 4 PM-can I choose a boarding pass for after that time or am I randomly assigned one?

  • Reservations will allow access into SWGE at time of reservation. But you must check in at the workshop 20 min prior to reservation.

  • Am I correct in understanding that you can only sign up the day you are attending and not before ?

  • Hi Lisa – simply add their tickets to your app. Go to My Tickets in the Disneyland App, tap the + (plus) sign in the upper right corner and choose “Link Tickets & Passes”. Note that you can have tickets linked on other people’s apps and it does NOT change your tickets on your app. That’s how you can create parties like this (as well as for MaxPass FP parties). So for example, I have my pass, as well and my son’s, daughter’s and wife’s passes, all on my app. Each one of them have all four as well. We can all make MaxPass reservations, and the app will keep track and update everyone which reservations are in place, etc. Remember that your tickets are actually on Disney’s servers, not your app – that’s just a “conduit” to show what’s attached to them, like FastPasses AND Galaxy’s Edge reservations. It will also prevent people from being in multiple boarding groups. Ticket #s can only be in one group. Good on Disney for doing it this way!

Question for the Disney team regarding Savi’s workshop reservations: the page says that a reservation is good for you and two guests to accompany you. Only one person has to pay at the time of reservation with credit card, and the reservation takes the place of a boarding group reservation, since it gets you into Galaxy’s Edge at the time of your reservation. So with that in mind, does that Savi’s reservation also grant your two non-purchasing-light-saber-guests access to Galaxy’s Edge at the same time, since you can bring them in according to the reservation? Do you need to add their tickets at the time of the reservation? How does that work? Thanks!

    • Yes. The reservation is for the builder plus two guests. The guest will put all three names on the reservation, so when you check in, all three will be given access to the land for the build experience.

  • Any SWGE benefits for resort hotel guests after 6/23?

  • According to the TSA website, your light saber can either be carried on or checked.

  • What if people in your group have their app & tickets already connected to their own phones? How do you join as a “group” that way?

  • Can these lightsabers be taken on an airplane? I would have to get it home somehow!

  • Looks like the Canitna and Savi’s workshop more details links are broken. I need more details!!
