We’re off to a roaring start with Disney’s “The Lion King” “Protect the Pride” campaign! Last week, we shared a look at lions in the Caring for Disney Animals video series. Today, we’re going in even closer so you can “Meet our Pride” of lions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and hear more from Lori, one of our animal care experts, who works with her team to study every facet of the lions’ behavior.

As we work to grow the population of lions in the world through “The Lion King” “Protect the Pride” efforts, know that you can help, too. You can visit the lions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with your friends and family and learn more about this incredible species. For every guest who rides the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida during opening week of “The Lion King” film (July 19 – 25, 2019), the Disney Conservation Fund will donate $2 (up to $350,000) to the Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund to help double the number of lions across Africa by 2050. Theme park admission is required.

Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more updates about our lions and “The Lion King” “Protect the Pride” campaign.

  • It’s heartbreaking to know the numbers of so many beautiful animals are declining. Thank you for all you do to help preserve these amazing animals for our generation and generations to come.
