Disney’s Grand Californian’s hotel design is inspired by the Gamble House in Pasadena and GCH Craftsman Bar continues this story by embracing many of the unique Arts & Crafts details and materials. The signature clinker brick, stone columns and shady trellis set the stage for al fresco dining amid plush, residential-style patio seating. The venue’s structure is inspired by the Gamble House’s original garage and current book store with its exposed rafters, shingled walls and wood accents.

Throughout the lounge, you’ll notice the motif of wisteria vines and blooms, a prominent design element in the Arts & Crafts movement, which is a symbol of welcoming and good luck. The Craftsman Bar celebrates this lovely, delicate vine on the light fixtures, the trellis and many of the artisan-crafted elements around the bar.  A custom tile mural features a wisteria vine that was hand-carved and glazed by a local artisan in Pasadena. The Craftsman Bar marquee is a mix of stained glass, metal and wood, with the wisteria vine seamlessly woven across these multiple materials.

Meadow Gate details

The new pool gate, made by the same artisan who originally created the Sun Gate, the Moon Gate and the Arbor Gate when the hotel opened, has created the Meadow Gate featuring a variety of creatures, celebrating nature in California, including a quail, butterfly, honey bee, grasshopper and ladybugs.

The kids’ meals have six different choices little ones are sure to love.  Which dessert? Try them all! A Root Beer Float, the Waffle Churro Sundae and the Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie Fingers are all sweet-tooth satisfiers.

  • Exactly what part of the lounge is open to the public? Thank you!

  • Will the Bar and Grill be taking reservations? It is not coming up on my app. Thank you.

  • Can’t WAIT to try this place out! We love the Disney Grand Californian hotel!

  • Visited The Crafstman last week. The food and service are very, very good! My only issue is with the patio…would love to see some type of market umbrella or other for shade. Anaheim gets so hot. Other than the lack of shade, this is my new favorite spot to dine!!!!!!!!!!

  • Our family loves to stay at the Grand Californian Hotel. It’s so beautiful. One of our favorite “activities” is to end a busy day at the parks with a visit to White Water Snacks–now the GCH Craftsman Grill–for tea or a soda and cookies before heading up to our room for the night.

  • I can’t wait to visit this weekend! The nachos look amazing!!
