Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort  is a popular field trip destination for student groups? Last week NBA basketball star Aaron Gordon took part in an innovative Disney Youth Education Series program at Magic Kingdom Park alongside 30 students from his Orlando foundation. The program, “Energy and Waves Physics Lab” is designed to give students a look at the “science behind the magic” and demonstrate how energy, sound and light are used through the various technology at Fantasyland, the Haunted Mansion and Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Aaron’s favorite part of the day? Going behind the scenes at the Haunted Mansion!

The students visited Walt Disney World Resort as part of Gordon’s summer academy, CodeOrlando, which gives students a chance to explore careers in technology and coding fields. Taking the students to Walt Disney World Resort was a great way to deepen their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math, but in a magical and entertaining environment. From the looks on their smiling faces, education has probably never been more fun.
