Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns to Magic Kingdom Park this Friday, August 16, and this year, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom fans can pick up an event-exclusive game card inspired by party’s brand-new fireworks show, “Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular.”

According to Imagineer Jonathan Ackley, the “Phantasmal Fireworks’ Flash” card was created after “Merlin the Magician was so impressed with – and excited – for the new spectacular that he created a spell in its honor!”

In case you’re new to Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, this in-park interactive experience that allows guests of all ages to join Merlin’s quest to stop Disney Villains from taking over Magic Kingdom Park. Guests search for villain hideouts throughout the park and visit magic portals where they use spell cards to fight back against a villain’s plan. Your journey begins at the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A., where you can pick up everything you need to play.

This special event card will be distributed separately (and in addition to) the regular Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card packs at this location. Guests must register to play with their party ticket and event wristband in order to get cards.

Will you pick this card up on your party night? Share your excitement in the comments section below!

  • I hope that Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom will receive a huge refurbishment, release new regular series of spell cards and expand to Tomorrowland, Fantasyland Forest and Storybook Circus for WDW’s 50th Anniversary.

  • How do you register to play to receive the card?

  • You can pick the card up at the firehouse on the left as you come in the park. You can also sign up to play the game there. Well worth it as our family loves the Sorcerers game! And agree with the poster requesting upgrades. Would be amazing to see some additions at what is likely minimal cost.

  • “Guests must register to play with their party ticket and event wristband in order to get cards.” Is this true? In the past you simply showed them your event wristband, they marked your band, and you received a card.

  • @Shaunna,

You need to buy a park pass to enter Magic Kingdom and buy a ticket for the Mickey Not-So-Scary Halloween. Go to the Disney World website, then go to Things To Do then scroll down to Event and Tours. Scroll down until you see Mickey Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (ignore the Schedule Unavailable) and click on it. Then click on Select Tickets which will show you the dates and cost. On the day of the event and at the start of the party, you show your ticket to a Cast Member (there are various locations so ask) who will give you a wristband and just head over to the Firehouse where you will get this special event Sorcerers card and only those who paid for the ticket is entitled to receive 1 card. I spend the day at Magic Kingdom and stay there until the party starts. If you are doing the same, after entering the park, head over to the Firehouse where you can get the regular Sorcerers cards and the Cast Member there will show you how to play and what you need to do. Keep in mind it is no cost to get the regular Sorcerers cards and each member in your group can get a pack of cards.

  • @John,

I think she was referring to those who are new to the Sorcerers game but you’re correct about the process and I don’t see it being changed otherwise.
