What better way to celebrate the upcoming premiere of “Frozen 2” than on a cruise to one of the lands that inspired Arendelle? That was the exact thought of Disney animation veteran Bobs Gannaway when he took his family on our Norwegian Fjords cruise this summer.

You may already know that Gannaway’s daughter, Hadley, voices young Anna in the highly-anticipated “Frozen” sequel. So it’s an understatement to say that this cruise was a very special celebration for their family!

“Frozen, A Musical Spectacular,”

A Disney animation veteran, Gannaway currently serves as executive producer on the upcoming Disney+ original series “Monsters at Work,” produced by Disney Television Animation and inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Academy-Award-winning “Monsters, Inc.” His additional career credits include “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Planes: Fire & Rescue.”

During the sailing, he surprised guests with an inside look at his creative journey and career with Disney. Then he had the incredible honor of introducing his daughter to the stage as a special sneak peek into “Frozen 2,” which debuts on our ships Nov. 22, the same day it releases in theaters on land.

Like all guests on our Norwegian Fjords cruises, the Gannaway family had the unique opportunity to explore the natural wonders and architecture that inspired the legendary land of Arendelle. On board the ship, they were immersed in the world of “Frozen” with activities inspired by the film.

Do you want to “let it go” and escape to the world of “Frozen,” too? Here are some of the ways you can join the frozen fun on a Disney cruise:

  • On select summer sailings to Europe and Alaska, you can enjoy a full day of “Frozen” fun when the ship is transformed into a winter wonderland. Icy adventures and fun for the entire family include character encounters and themed experiences, culminating in an extravagant celebration with friends from the Kingdom of Arendelle.
  • During select cruises to Norway, you can visit an enchanting storybook village for a traditional Norwegian summer celebration with special guests of honor – Anna, Elsa and Sven. Other shore excursions in Norway explore the breathtaking natural wonders, stunning architecture and rich Scandinavian culture depicted in the film.
  • Aboard the Disney Wonder (and starting this fall on the Disney Fantasy), you’ll be treated to “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular,” an original stage production that follows the captivating journey of Anna and Elsa. In the youth club on the Disney Wonder, your little ones can meet the royal sisters at Frozen Adventures, a whimsical space themed to Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post.
  • On all four Disney ships, Olaf gives out warm hugs alongside Anna and Elsa year-round. You have the opportunity to meet and take photographs with your favorite “Frozen” friends on their royal tour of the Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic.

  • Watching the sequel premier of my toddlers’ favorite movie is very high on our list of activities while aboard the Dream in November! I love that Disney Cruise Lines makes their ships even more magical by having complimentary movie theaters for guests to watch some of their newest films (along with a few classics). We can’t wait to “Let It Go!”
