Meet the Artists: September 2019 at WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

There’s always new art to appreciate and new artists to meet, and September is no exception at the WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort!

Artist Showcase 

Admire the individual perspectives, styles and techniques of industry veterans and up-and-comers at our artist showcase. When you find the piece of art you love at the event, the artist will sign it for you!

Meet Stephanie Buscema, Sam Carter, Danny Heller, Leilani Joy and Ann Shen: Sept. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Artist in Residence:  David Lozeau

David Lozeau is a figurative painter whose iconic art depicts skeleton musicians, deep-sea creatures, Wild West bandidos, doe-eyed animals and high-octane motorsports, appealing to a wide variety of collectors across the globe. His works are in dozens of galleries on three continents and he has won awards at fine art exhibitions. David layers acrylics, gouache, and enamel to create vibrant, unforgettable paintings with interesting narratives. David’s Lowbrow art pays homage to everything from Greek mythology to the hot rod scene. His nautical art is anything but typical, depicting steampunk divers, tiki-hoarding octopus and underwater robot invasions. David grew up in rural New Hampshire and earned a graphic art degree before moving to Southern California and pursuing his artistic passion.

Appearance Dates: Sept 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Featured Artisan of the Month: Leilani Joy

A native of Northern California, Leilani Joy grew up illustrating the world around her.  Earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Leilani’s works have been featured in numerous publications, product lines and gallery shows worldwide.  For the WonderGround Gallery, Leilani creates classic Disney characters in her own unique style! Leilani’s works are influenced primarily by Japanese manga and animation, folklore, fantasy and pop surrealism. Her emotive long-limbed ladies are brought to life using vivid color, graphic shapes and a variety of materials including acrylic, watercolor, ink and 3D collage.

Appearance Dates: September 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.; September 8 and 28-29 from 1 to 4 p.m.

At WonderGround Gallery, enter into a world of imagination inspired by your favorite Disney films and characters, and see interpretive works in a range of mediums by dozens of artists.  Each month, guests are invited to meet the artists and discover unique and new original pieces for your home, office or as special gifts, all rooted in Disney’s time-honored heritage of storytelling through art

  • WonderGround Gallery is my favorite shop in Downtown Disney District. (Marcelline’s is a close second!) No trip to DLR is complete without a visit to WonderGround, and I have many treasures I have found there!
