A new, out-of-this-galaxy “Stormtrooper Plane” celebrating the recent opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is ready to take to the skies!

Disney and LATAM Airlines Group just unveiled the special edition Boeing 777  aircraft at a Star Wars-inspired event in São Paulo, Brazil. The “Stormtrooper Plane” was designed by Disney’s creative team along with Lucasfilm  – and we knew Disney Parks Blog readers would want a closer look.

To create the amazing art on the exterior of the aircraft, teams worked for more than 21 days and needed more than 2,500 liters of ink.

The aircraft will fly from São Paulo to destinations including Orlando, Miami, Madrid, Frankfurt, Paris and London.  And while in the air, passengers will be able to enjoy all 10 films of the Star Wars Collection on LATAM’s onboard entertainment platform, LATAM Play.

During the unveiling of the “Stormtrooper Plane,” a group of customers at LATAM’s Line Maintenance Center in São Paulo/Guarulhos were surprised with an all-inclusive trip to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Walt Disney World Resort.  And this weekend, the aircraft will be transporting passengers to adventures far, far away.

  • I’ve never heard of LATAM Airlines. This seems odd.

  • LATAM is as a result of a merger between LAN of Chile and TAM of Brazil. Both airlines have been around for a long time and after their merger, they are now known as LATAM Airlines.
