Winner Announced in Disney Cruise Line’s Sixth Annual Gingerbread House Competition

Stephen Walker

by , Fleet Culinary Standards and Consistency Chef, Disney Cruise Line

Our Annual Gingerbread House Competition is one of my favorite Disney Cruise Line traditions. Year after year, the shipboard teams put in great effort to make their oversized gingerbread house better than ever. And this year was no exception.

Together they used about 650 pounds of gingerbread dough, 220 pounds of icing sugar, 5,250 gingerbread bricks and a ton of candy to create these masterpieces. All of the houses turned out beautifully, but one really stands out…

Disney Fantasy Gingerbread House

The Disney Fantasy! As you can see, they went above and beyond in creativity, intricacy and originality, making this ship the winner of our Sixth Annual Gingerbread House Competition.

A huge congrats to the Disney Fantasy, and a job well done to the pastry, bakery chefs and deck teams on the Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic! Be sure to check out the spectacular gingerbread house in the ship’s atrium when you sail on a Very Merrytime Cruise this holiday season.

I agree with William’s comment: Which of the other three entrants belongs to which ship?

  • Disney Dream is my favorite 🎄

  • I’m surprised there was a winner. Looks like a tie with Disney Dream. Good work everyone

  • How can we tell which of the non-winner pictures are on which ship?
