Disney Magic: Back in Miami

Looking for a way to escape winter? The port of Miami, where the Disney Magic is offering welcomed escapes all winter long to paradise aboard both Western Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries, is the perfect place to beat those winter blues. And even better yet – most of the itineraries include a stop to my personal favorite island in the world, Disney’s Castaway Cay

Disney's Castaway Cay

Has it been a while since you’ve cruised aboard the Disney Magic or sailed out of Miami? If so, here are a few highlights to look forward to if your family is headed to South Florida for one of these sailings!

Explore Miami

I don’t know about you, but one of the reasons why I love going on cruises is to experience new destinations. There are amazing itineraries to explore at sea, but one aspect of cruising I feel is overlooked is the chance to explore the homeports from where you first embark. And if you’re anything like me – someone who is not a fan of the cold, winter weather – you look for any opportunity to soak up the sun, making Miami the ideal homeport for my next Disney cruise!

While the city of Miami is well-known as a destination for cruising and tourism, it also offers a mosaic of diverse cultures and is an epicenter of unique dining, art and music. Miami is also home to two must-see national parks—Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park, which boasts the only living tropical reef within the continental U.S.

Marvel Day at Sea

Beginning Jan. 9, select sailings out of Miami will feature Marvel Day at Sea, one heroic day at sea filled with encounters with some of your favorite Super Heroes, action-packed entertainment and Marvel-themed activities designed for the entire family! It’s one super event.

Rapunzel’s Royal Table

If you prefer a more royal celebration, the Disney Magic offers your family the unique opportunity to dine at Rapunzel’s Royal Table, the first table service restaurant themed to “Tangled.” Enjoy dinner and special live entertainment that includes singing and dancing led by a merry band of musicians, the mischievous Snuggly Duckling Thugs and of course, my favorite golden-haired princess, Rapunzel!

To spend even more time celebrating with the kingdom of Corona, be sure to check out “Tangled: The Musical” in the Walt Disney Theatre onboard the Disney Magic.

This Broadway-style show brings the 2010 animated classic to life. With enchanting music, adventure, romance and plenty of humor, this production will have you tapping your toes and singing along to some of your favorite “Tangled” melodies. And speaking of music, did you know that the film’s songwriting team of Alan Menken and Glenn Slater composed three new songs – “Flower of Gold,” “Wanted Man” and “When the Princess Returns” for this stage adaptation? It’s a must-see while onboard.

This is just a quick glimpse at all that’s offered onboard the Disney Magic. To check out available itineraries out of Miami and learn more about sailing aboard the Disney Magic, visit DisneyCruise.com
