Today was a big day for our Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE Magazine.

We announced names of the 100 extraordinary high school students from across the nation who will be part of the 2020 class that will take place in March at the Walt Disney World Resort.

To celebrate the moment, ABC’s Good Morning America visited a school this morning to surprise a student with the news that she was “going to Disney World.” Myah Mitchell of Cambria Heights, NY, and her classmates got the surprise of a lifetime when Keke Palmer, co-host of ABC’s GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke, walked in to tell Myah that she was selected to be part of the 2020 class of Disney Dreamers. And it all happened live on national TV!

Keke then whisked Myah off to the ABC Times Square Studios to meet up with two other Disney Dreamers – Nicole Hemphill from Newark, Delaware, and Patric Boyd from Atlanta, Georgia. The three were special guests on today’s GMA3 where the anchors shined a spotlight on the students and commended them for their incredible accomplishment.

Here’s a look at some of this exciting day.

Each of the 100 students chosen for this year’s class will get an all-expenses-paid-trips to Walt Disney World for the three-day event where they’ll embark on a journey throughout the four theme parks and behind the scenes of this 40-square-mile vacation destination. They’ll discover new career opportunities, pursue their dreams, and interact with Steve Harvey and other celebrities and industry professionals.

Now in its 13th year, Disney Dreamers Academy is part of Walt Disney World’s commitment to helping the next generation of young people by inspiring them at a critical time in their development. The Disney Dreamers Academy theme is “Be100,” encouraging teens to be positive, to be “all in” and to carry what they learn back with them so they can relentlessly pursue their dreams and make a difference in the lives of others.
