Today marks World Health Day – a day traditionally honored by celebrating nurses, doctors and healthcare teams who work tirelessly to keep us all healthy. This year, these professionals are the front line of defense in a global pandemic, providing much needed care to communities around the world.
We are uniting across the globe with a message of thanks and appreciation to celebrate the brave healthcare providers who are helping so many.

The celebration kicked off at Shanghai Disney Resort, where the Enchanted Storybook Castle lit up with the words “thank you” in numerous languages for medical professionals all over the world.

On behalf of the cast members at Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Ambassador Melody shared a special symbol of appreciation.
For a moment of inspiration, Tokyo Disney Resort shared wonderful images from both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, with a heartfelt thanks to healthcare workers.

At Disneyland Paris, a floral arrangement of “Merci” was displayed in front of the castle.

Cinderella Castle shined blue, as a beacon of hope and gratitude. Magic Kingdom cast members created their own moment of thanks on Main Street U.S.A.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Dr. Mark Penning – Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team – shared a special “thank you” from his entire team of animal caregivers, scientists and environmental specialists.

At Disneyland Resort, Custodial cast members expressed their heartfelt gratitude at the “Storytellers” statue and at Paradise Gardens Park in Disney California Adventure.

Shining brightly on behalf of all of the Disney Stores around the world, a heartfelt message of thanks lit up the billboards above the Disney Store in Times Square in New York City.

At Castaway Cay, there was a special island appreciation shared from Disney Cruise Line, spelling the words “thank you” using flip flops.

As an expression of gratitude, our ohana at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa shared a heartfelt “mahalo” message.

Over at Walt Disney Imagineering, a fitting “thank you” was shared for medical professionals all over the world.
We’re reminded of a quote: “Every step we take, brings a new hope, a new day…” It’s from the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Walt Disney World Resort, and we hope it serves as an inspiration to you, as does for us, during this uncertain time.

This is amazing I am a nurse in NYC for over 10 years. I can’t wait to see Mickey soon.
As a healthcare worker (I am a registered nurse in the Florida) I say thank you to all of you too. I have a large family of 4 boys and every year, twice a year, we go to Disney in Orlando. My boys really missed this time. We can’t wait for everything to go back to normal. We will see you hopefully soon.
I am a Registered Nurse in an NYC Hospital that has been inundated and traumatized by COVID-19. Thank you for your support…it really means a lot! So looking forward to a trip to Disney World ….hopefully by the end of this year.
As an ICU nurse here in Los Angeles – This means a lot. I miss going to Disneyland and California Adventure. My son cant wait to see Mickey and friends again!
Thank you, Disney. As a hospital social worker, the emotional toll has been draining, but Disney always makes my family smile. Hope to be there in person again when this is all over!❤️
Thank you Disney for your support. I have worked at a very busy inner city Level 1 Trauma Center in New Orleans for 24 years. I love what I do and I am honored to have the opportunity to make a difference. I am proud to work with some of the most amazing people. We are all in this together.
Another ICU RN here to say thank you❤️ There’s no better way to feel appreciated than from the happiest place on earth. My husband and I haven’t missed a year since our honeymoon trip in 2018. We hope to see you again this year!
Thank you for appreciating us! Nurses appreciate you too!!! When this is all over I will need a vacation and what better place then the happiest place on earth😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️DISNEY!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Disney! I’ve been nursing since 1997 and I cannot wait to step foot upon Main Street, smell the confections and gaze upon Cinderella castle.
Thank you Disney,
As an mobile X-ray technician technicians serving Nursing homes, assisted living and rehab, these last couple of weeks has been exhausting both physically and emotionally. I cancelled my DCL trip amid this crisis and cant wait to celebrate the “end ” of this with a family vacation at my favorite place in the world.
I just had to cancel my upcoming trip because I am an ER nurse at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ. My family loves Disney and we try to visit at least once every 2 years. My son is the most disappointed because we were supposed to be there for his birthday this year 🥺🥺 Once this horrible virus is gone we will visit again. Thank you for honoring the frontline workers, it means a lot. We do it for the love of helping others and this is no different. #nurseslovedisney
Thank you, Disney! As an ER nurse, I appreciate the happiness you bring. I’m so hopeful for a break this summer and to be able to vacation at the Disneyland Resort!
As a critical care RN in Washington state, I am grateful for your support! Disney is my “happy place.” I have been keeping Disney values & hope close to my heart and on the front lines. I am wearing Disney scrubs everyday to share the cheer. Can’t wait to set my feet on Main Street once again. Until then….
Thank you Disney for your support during this time of uncertainty. I am a nurse practitioner in urgent care/occupational health and safety. We cannot wait to “come home” in September for our planned trip!! I pray for all of you at Disney, may you remain safe and healthy. I cant wait to share in the pixie dust, and all the magic that Disney holds. Give my love to the Mouse!!
This is so awesome, thank you Disney. I’m a paramedic in an ambulance and a helicopter and my wife is an ER nurse. Our family is very much on edge with anxiety during this time. We have two small children and we needed a smile on our face so we booked a Disney trip in Aug. I just really hope you guys will be open! Thanks for making our week just a little better with this Disney magic. We can’t wait to escape this craziness and be welcomed home!
As a nurse, this touches my heart. This is why I love Disney, and I cannot wait to come back!
As the wife of an occupational therapist, who continues to work with incoming and pre-existing patients, thank you. At times when it seems like most people get to stay safe in their homes, we have to send our loved ones out to care for others but I know my husband and all healthcare workers wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤍Disney World is our “happy place” and we can’t wait to go back! Hoping for the 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom next year!
Thank you so much . As a Nurse of 20 years I am so grateful for the kind gesture and support . it will not be forgotten and I can’t wait to come back to Disney .
Thank you for your support. My husband is a hospital administrator in charge of patient care. We have always been proud of what he does but never more so than now. He’s working harder than ever before all while being so concerned for myself and our two children. We cannot wait to be “Welcomed Home” as soon as we are able. Thank you first responders and medical professionals! Keep up the good work!
The appreciation for frontline healthcare workers from you is truly touching. I am an RN in southern California and the amount of support from global regions to local community is truly overwhelming. Thank you so much! My family and I look forward to having a wonderful Disney experience in Hawaii next year!
I am a pediatric physical therapist in Rhode Island.
Disneyworld is always my mental health break.
Can’t wait to be “welcomed home” again soon!
Hoping for Memorial Day weekend but may have to try later
Thank you Disney. As an MD, it is an honor and pleasure to serve my community. This a a scary time we are living in combating this new virus. All healthcare professionals ( Nurses, providers, technicians, scientist, etc), my thoughts and prayers are with you. Thank you for showing up everyday and thinking of the communities we service. This too will pass. Protect yourselves, know that we are making a difference, and that because of your efforts, families will soon be able to embrace each other like before.
Thank you Disney ❤️ Been with my daughter here in Florida since this began. She is a RN in the ICU. Proud mom moment watching her walk out of the house each day with a Smile knowing she is making a difference 😊
Thanks, Disney! I’m yet another RN who can’t wait to be welcomed home when this is all over…really appreciate the thoughts and photos! Very creative and just the uplift needed at this time. Mahalo nui loa!
Thank you Disney. They all deserve our gratitude. Heroes.
Thank you Disney,
As an RN for just under 36 years, I really appreciate this. I have worked mostly in Pediatrics and specializing even further in Pediatric Emergency / Urgent Care and now School Nursing. I love my job even as stressful as it can be. But Disney has always been my way of relaxing – even when I worked as a Cast Member in Merchandise. Disney has always provided what I needed to get my job done!!
So Thanks for everything.
Thank you Disney for brightening my day! As a NICU RN for the past 30+ years I have turned to you as my place to relax and unwind. So much of what we do when we’re at work requires such critical thinking, focus and performance of so many tasks that we need Disneys to decompress! My husband calls it “my happy place!” From getting married at Aulani to going on our Disney cruise to Alaska Disney has created so many wonderful memories for me and my family. We ❤️ you too!!
Thank you Disney for the kindness and wonderful “shout out ” to Healthcare Workers. I have worked 39 years in the hospital and am still going strong as an ICU RN. Disney is our happy place and we can’t wait to return. We were to be there arriving on Mother’s Day but obviously this won’t happen. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to “Go Home.”
I am a RN and this filled my heart so much that tears streamed out of my eyes! Pure joy and brightness I have loved since a child from being at Disney! Cannot wait to be Welcomed Home again soon! Thank you for pouring out so much thoughtfulness and pixie dust!

As mom to five health care workers, THANK YOU, for recognizing them! We were at Ft. Wilderness for ten days just before you closed and cannot wait to return to the Happiest Place on Earth and add to the decades of memories we’ve made there.

A little Disney Magic will be good for my soul
I am an ER physician in NY and this is exactly what I needed today. Thank you for the support! It made my day a bit brighter and I’m sure it will for others too!
This is so awesome, Walt Disney Co.! Made my day to see the pouring out of thanks on yours and the company’s behalf, around the world! We’ll get through this together, and I can’t wait to be back in the Parks!
My daughter is a nurse and my wife worked in healthcare over 30 years until being diagnosed with MSA-C a year ago. We have enjoyed staying at almost every resort hotel in Orlando and now love the RV Park due to my wife’s condition. She asks me everyday when we can go, because it’s been her happy place her whole life! I’m hoping the parks open soon and she’s able to see it again while she still can. Disney sets the standard for hospitality and has always been at the top of list for a great place to go to get away from the real world stress.
Thank you for all that you do and honoring our front line hero’s during this crazy time in life.
Thank You for this, it is beautiful. I cannot wait to see a smiling face and hear “Welcome home!” again. It’s magic to the ears every time and magic is much needed everywhere right now.
Gratitude makes us better and kind, especially through this hard moment.
