Cookie baking, holiday decorating and carol singing are a few traditions many cherish during this magical season. Our panelists at planDisney also look forward to their own special Disney inspired holiday traditions and are here today to share a few of their favorites. For Rachel, the holidays can’t even begin until she brings out the Cinderella Castle inspired “Days Until Christmas” calendar. “Even though my boys are teens, they still fight over whose turn it is to change the numbers each morning!” She adds, counting down to Christmas with a touch of Disney makes it that more magical for everyone!
To this panel, trimming the tree means unwrapping and hanging every precious Disney ornament collected throughout the years. Memories of these festive collectibles are discussed, laughed about and treasured. The stories of how the ornaments were selected will go down in their family’s history, similar to that famous reindeer!
“While touring Disney Springs years ago, each of my children picked out their own beautiful ornament at Disney’s Days of Christmas,” reflects Andrea. “These ornaments open to reveal a special treasure, and even now, both kids look forward to discovering what little trinket awaits inside each year. It’s a highlight of Christmas morning!”
Samantha adds that tree decorating at her house involves stories about every Disney ornament they hang and how it came to have special meaning to their family. So many ornaments might call for a bigger tree next year!
And have you heard that Santa himself loves a tasty Mickey shaped cookie? Rachel and her family love baking these treats and after sharing with friends and family, they make sure there are plenty left over for Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Christmas PJs are a comfy tradition for our panelists, and Shantel highly recommends keeping them on and watching Christmas movies all day long. We think that idea will definitely keep her on the Nice List!
