After being closed for more than one year, magic is finally returning to the Disneyland Resort theme parks! Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park are planning to officially reopen to the public on April 30, with limited capacity.
You’ll soon be welcomed back to enjoy unforgettable attractions, see beloved Disney friends, shop for the latest merchandise, savor the world-famous food and drinks, capture fun photos and cherish special magical moments.
Get ready to once again experience favorite attractions at both parks, from thrilling adventures like the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and the Incredicoaster to family-friendly experiences like Peter Pan’s Flight and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. New magic will be unveiled, too, as the reimagined Snow White’s Enchanted Wish opens to guests for the very first time.
From surprise appearances along Main Street, U.S.A., and Pixar Pier to playful interactions, characters from favorite Disney stories will entertain and delight. Beloved characters will pop up in new ways and sometimes in unexpected places as they remain mindful of physical distancing. Certain experiences that draw large group gatherings – such as parades and nighttime spectaculars – will return at a later date.
Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that requires all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required for guests ages 3 and up. Theme park reservations will be limited and subject to availability and, until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks in line with current state guidelines. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.
In the days leading up to the public opening on April 30, Disneyland Resort will invite cast members and members of the local community to be the first theme park guests after more than a year of closure. A Touch of Disney, the limited-time ticketed experience which has sold out, will go on as planned from March 18 through April 19.
Guests will also have the opportunity to stay in the middle of the magic as the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort plan to welcome guests once again, with a phased reopening. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa plans to reopen on April 29, with limited capacity. Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will plan to reopen May 2. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date.
The health and well-being of guests and cast members remain a top priority. Just as the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort reopened with enhanced health and safety measures, operational changes will be in place at the theme parks and hotels to align with guidance from health authorities and learnings from our parks around the world to promote physical distancing, enhanced cleanliness and reduced contact. This guidance is fluid and applicable at any given time as community situations change. With that guidance, many factors will determine the timing of when offerings may be available. Cast members will be available to explain our new procedures and answer questions you may have.
Visit Disneyland.com often for the most current information, including future details about ticket sales and reservations, and which experiences are currently available or will be offered.* Keep your eyes peeled on the Disney Parks Blog for additional reopening details, coming soon!
*Upon reopening, certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity and will be subject to limited availability or even closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed.
I am soooo EXCITED!!! This brings me hope in a lost world! Thank you Disney.
Can we get a list of what rides will be closed? I have an autistic daughter and I need to front load her with information prior to going to the park. TIA
Can we get some Disney World Annual Passes now? 🙃😇
I purchased the 3 entries to Disneyland (California Promotion), used one and two are remaining. When can I use them?
Yay!!! Crying tears of joy!!!!
How soon until we can make reservations?
The people who purchased the three day pass and werent able to use all of the days, will they have priority to get it since their tickets have an expiration date and were already paid for?
Please send information how to buy tickets. Am interested in taking my family and cant wait. Thanks
Hotel booked. Moving my reservation over to the Grand as soon as it’s open!!! So pumped for this news!!
My guys are super excited about returning to the parks… I hope I can make it happen. I bet the reservations will be hard to get. 😕

I can’t wait to go back to Disneyland!!!!!! This has been a long year. Seriously, I really can’t wait!!! I would love to be the first one in. 😁 One of the best news since the start of Covid.
Looking forward to this! Will we be informed on how to book/reserve?
Only California residents are able to visit the parks?
Will you do something special for first responders/ front line workers? I am a CRNA, working in a busy hospital, full time plus some. Taking care of covid patients. No stimulus, grateful for my job, happy to take care of people, but a lot of stress over the last year. So thankful to be vaccinated.
I’m excited to be able to go to the park again! I’ve lived within 20 miles the park my whole 66 years and 2020 is one of the few years I was unable to attend. I miss that magical feeling especially with all that’s happened in 2020… When might we learn when tickets will be made available to the general (CA) public? Thank you!
When might we learn, when tickets will be available to the general CA public?
Should only be open to California born residents
OMG OMG!!! when will tickets go on sale???
Such great news!!! I live in Texas and want to take the family for the first time to visit Disneyland. When do you expect the park to be open to everyone? Will there be discount tickets for first responders and nurses? If not it’s okay just want my family to be able to experience the fun.
Like your Grad Night celebration you should have one for our amazing first responders! I appreciate all they have done and are doing for us! They deserve some much needed magic! A First Responders Night!!
What about out of state-ers who have an unused 3 Day park hopper? Since I purchased my ticket previously, why are CA residents given an opportunity to buy a ticket and enter the park before those of us who have already purchased tickets? That doesn’t seem fair.
The day before disneyland closed we had purchased 2 day tickets they are going to be expiring in the next few months will I be able to still use them since disneyland has been closed this whole time
This can go one of two ways, either okay or horrible, glad to see workers working again though to have their jobs back. Let’s hope people don’t forget to wear masks.
Please let me know how and when we can purchase tickets. My grandchildren can not wait to go to Disneyland. Thanks in advance
OMG!! Yes!! Finally!! I’ll be able to go for my birthday! 😍😭🥺🖤
Is there a way to be notified once the reservations system is active? I purchased a 3-day ticket back in February 2020 with the Magic Morning Early Access. Will this still be good for when you reopen?
We purchased 3 day passes back in February 2020 to use for spring break. It Covid happened. Will our tickets still be honored?
Can not wait to finally take our annual trip to southern California for Disney! Please let me know when I can reserve tickets, we always go in July for my daughter and my birthday:))
Yes!!!Finally checking back everyday yo see tickets!!
When do tickets and reservations go on sale for Disneyland ?? Anyone know ?
When are the next batch of tickets going on sale? I want to go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving break. Is it better to reserve through the hotels?
Can’t wait to come out west for our families vacation. We are so looking forward to going to Disneyland while we are out west. Please let me know when I can book for June,
We love you Mickey Mouse and gang
So excited! Hoping to get tickets in May for my daughter’s college graduation. She worked so hard to graduate after receiving an MS diagnosis and being in the hospital emergency room multiple times the past few years. It was a struggle for her, starting and stopping in the middle of quarters due to her health, but she did it. So happy for her and proud of her. She is a constant inspiration. Disneyland here we come! The best way to celebrate!
Oh I am so excited!!! Hoping to go Mother’s day weekend for my son and my shared birthdays. Prior to Covid we have gone every year since he was 7 months old. My son has high functioning Autism and sensory processing disorder and the Cast members have always been amazing with us. There are cast members that remember us every year and remark on how much my son has grown and developed and excelled. This is truly our special and happiest place and we can not wait to return!!!
We already have military hopper tickets that was purchased last year and wasnt able to use them because of shutdown due to covid. We were told our military tickets are good till the end of this year. How can we make a reservation to use these tickets?
Bought tickets a month before the whole shutdown, but I’m from Texas. My tickets expire at the end of this year, but will out of state people be able to reserve spots soon?? I really wanna experience Disney during Halloween time 🥺🥺
When will tickets go on sale?
So glad we know about tickets now!! I wish Soarin’ Over California was returning instead of World!
I live in California and want to take my children to Disneyland in June 2021. They will be visiting me from Kansas. If I purchase the tickets, will they be allowed to visit with me? I’m 75 years old and need assistance.
I bought tickets hours ago aften checking the date I want was open, selected that date and paid top dollar for that day, and then I was thrown back into this virtual queue to wait for a reservation. What the heck?
Will I get a refund if the day I need to go isn’t available? Why did you set it up this way?
When will July, Aug & Sept dates open up?
So stoked that living in CA finally has a perk for once. Leave it to Disney to make us feel special 😊.
It will be my 18 month old’s first trip, wasn’t going to be until he was older but I had to jump and buy tickets for this once in a lifetime opportunity! Thank you so much! Going in T-24 days! Can’t see a better way to celebrate my birthday or his first trip!
When will Disneyland be open to people from other states?
