Dreaming of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation this year, but hoping to try something new? How about enjoying the magic of Disney under the stars at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort!

Whether your idea of camping is setting up your RV with your favorite Mickey Mouse accessories or popping a tent and snuggling in your favorite Disney character sleeping bag, our campsites offer guests the ultimate outdoor stay!

The campsites are truly a unique way to enjoy a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and according to the planDisney panel, it’s like a vacation within a vacation! Looking for a break from the parks? Grab the family and wander on over to the gorgeous new stables and pony rides at Tri-Circle D Ranch. At the ranch you can even throw that cowboy hat on and try your hand at horseback riding. Feeling a bit more adventurous partner? No worries, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort also has fishing, canoeing and kayaking! (Some offerings require advance reservations and additional charges may be incurred.)

planDisney Tip: Be sure to take advantage of the beautiful biking and jogging trails and remember bike rentals are available on site.

Warm days call for a dip in the swimming hole. Okay, it’s not a real swimming hole, it’s the beautiful Meadow Swimmin’ Pool. Guests will also enjoy relaxing in the whirlpool spa after a full day at the parks.

planDisney Tip: Tamela recommends renting a golf cart while camping and finding a perfect spot to watch the Electrical Water Pageant Parade on those spectacular Florida evenings. (Show subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.)

The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are fully equipped and even dogs can enjoy a stay here! However, Jackie H. reminds guests if they are indeed bringing Fido in the motor-home, be sure to review the pet-friendly policy and request a pet-friendly loop when making a reservation at the campsites.

  • They also need to bring back the Hoop de Doo Review which was the longest running dinner show in Disney. We went over to Fort Wilderness every year for the show. It was awesome!!!
We won’t be back to Disney until they bring back their dining plans, experiences, and shows!

  • Sure would like to mosey on down to Trails End as well?!?
Any word when our favorite dining experience will return?
You can maybe modify it to a similar way, like at Whispering Canton Cafe! 😉
