Field Notes: Disneyland Resort Cast Members Discover a Way to Conserve Water

The Disneyland Resort is always looking for ways to conserve precious resources, especially water.

In this episode of Field Notes, we will learn how cast members including Patrick and Kyle from the Outdoor Ventures team were inspired to save water in their work location. They came up with a way to take melted ice from their carts at the end of the day and share it with the Custodial teams, who then use it to wash down areas of the resort. The water is also used to create water art (a favorite of Disneyland Resort park guests!) during normal operation.

This process saves approximately 450,000 gallons of water a year when both theme parks are open.

Throughout Earth Month, we looked at the ways our conservation and environmental teams harness the magic within our parks to better the world outside of them. Today’s Field Notes proves that this ingenuity comes from every corner of our cast; and it’s through that collaborative ambition that we’re able to make the most significant impact – both as a company and a community.
