Here’s What You Need to Know About Disneyland Resort’s Reopening, Including Theme Park Reservations and Tickets

As announced, Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park plan to reopen on April 30, with limited capacity! With this exciting news, we know you are eager to get back to the magic, and likely have questions about your next visit.

When we reopen our two theme parks, we will have enhanced health and safety measures, and will limit capacity through a new theme park reservation system that requires all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be available online, in advance only, for a specific date, subject to availability.

Here’s some important information to help you plan ahead:

Theme Park Reservations: To enter Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park, both a theme park reservation and valid admission ticket for the same park on the same date are required for guests ages 3 and up. Guests must have a valid theme park admission ticket in order to make a reservation. Theme park reservations will be limited and subject to availability and, until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, in line with current state guidelines.

The theme park reservation system will launch on April 12, and guests with existing valid theme park tickets can begin making park reservations for the days that their ticket is valid. Theme park ticket sales will resume on April 15, and guests without park tickets may begin purchasing tickets and making park reservations. As a reminder, ticket expiration dates were extended for many outstanding tickets. To accommodate as many types of ticket holders as possible, park reservations for select dates may be made available on a rolling basis. Ticket calendars will be updated on a rolling basis. Check for updated availability.

Here are some key dates to remember:

  • April 9: If you currently hold a theme park ticket, you can check available days for your 1-day ticket type beginning April 9 on Disneyland.com/ParksUpdates.
  • April 12: The theme park reservation system will open no earlier than 8 a.m. PT on April 12 and guests who already have valid theme park tickets may begin making park reservations.
  • April 15: Theme park ticket sales will resume no earlier than 8 a.m. PT on April 15, and guests without park tickets may begin purchasing tickets and making park reservations.

Tip: Be sure to log in to your Disney account first to link valid theme park tickets prior to accessing the park reservation system. See how to make a park reservation, below!

Guests with valid theme park admission tickets who are planning a stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will also need to book a theme park reservation, as a hotel stay does not guarantee a theme park reservation. Tip: If you plan to visit the theme parks during your stay, get your theme park reservation prior to making your hotel reservation. For room reservations and travel packages, visit Disneyland.com or contact your travel professional starting April 15 for stays beginning April 29. Theme park reservations will need to be made separately.

Guests with Park Hopper tickets may choose, pending availability, which theme park to start their day, when making their theme park reservations, and then will be able to visit the other park beginning at 1 p.m. that day. Guests with multi-day tickets will be required to make a separate park reservation for each day they plan to visit the theme parks.

Park Hours: Upon reopening, daily park hours for Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park are currently planned to be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit Disneyland.com for operating hours on the day you wish to visit, as they are subject to change.

Parking: Theme park parking will be available at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures, located off Disneyland Drive.

Dining: For a contactless and cashless experience, our mobile order service — available exclusively on the Disneyland App* — makes it easy for you to plan ahead, order, and pay for food and beverages at most quick service restaurants inside the theme parks. In order to foster physical distancing during this time, we will plan to reopen dining bookings for select locations on April 22, with limited capacity. You will be able to book your dining reservation 60 days in advance on Disneyland.com or with the Disneyland App, subject to availability. Tip: Be sure to have the latest version of the app downloaded and installed on your mobile device.

Please check Disneyland.com to learn important details about our health and safety measures prior to your arrival, such as the requirement for temperature checks and for all guests, ages 2 and older, to wear an appropriate face covering. We continue to keep the well-being of guests and cast members in the forefront of our planning and look forward to welcoming you back to the Disneyland Resort!

*Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere.  If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first.

  • At what capacity will the parks open? Will Disney follow the tier guidelines (currently orange, which would be 25%), or will you adopt a lesser rate (i.e. 15%?)

  • Got in the only queue online that I could see for tickets/reservations at 8:17am PST. It is now 7:55pm and I am finally allowed in….to nowhere that makes sense.

No apparent way to buy a ticket of any kind, but if I had a ticket, I could link up to 10 of them together. How do i actually buy a ticket? I thought I was in a queue to purchase and the reserve and admission date, but I cannot seem to find a link that does not take me back to where I started. So frustrated with this system.

  • Can a Southern California resident buy tickets for themselves as well as person who is not local?

  • When can i get 10 tickets

  • If we live in California but haven’t gotten California ID’s yet can we show other proofs of residency such as mail for bills???

  • Good morning!
This post mentions “If you currently hold a theme park ticket, you can check available days for your 1-day ticket type beginning April 9 on Disneyland.com/ParksUpdates.”
I see information about extension of expiration dates for some types, but no information about what current, valid tickets will be blocked out on certain days.

  • How do we make reservations for a 2 year old if we need a ticket to make one? Or, are we not expected to make a reservation for those under 3? Would also love to know what Danny asked. If we purchase tickets and then cannot get a reservation for the day we want, do they expire?

  • Legacy PH in NorCal(10hr away) Wondering, can make multiple day reservations?

  • We travel from NorCal(10hr drive) and usually stay 8 days.We are Legacy PH & was wondering if you can make multiple day reservations?

  • We are traveling from Northern CA (10hr drive) and usually stay at least 8 days. Currently Legacy Passholder’s and was wondering if you are able to make multiple day reservations?

  • If you are coming from Northern CA (10 hour drive) and usually stay at Disneyland for 8 days, can you make multiple day reservations?

  • Will military stationed in California be able to make reservations on april 15th even though they don’t have a California ID?

  • What if one person in the group is not a resident of California (from Oregon) but two others are? Will this change the longer it is open?

  • What if my 2 year old wont wear a mask?

  • Will there be a Halloween party this year?

  • Will you also be announcing what attraction will be opened and closed before tickets go on sale?

  • Thank you for respecting your neighbors and not giving preferential treatment to people with Hotel reservations. This gives everyone the same shot at tickets, and it’s the most fair way to do it!

  • How far in advance can we purchase tickets and start making reservations for park entry?

  • When will the park open up for people who live outside of California?

  • How far in advance can we make reservations for? 90 days out? 120?

  • If we can’t get a reservation, will the tickets expire?

  • Will DVC guests that already have reservations at the Grand have any priority to getting tickets and theme park reservations?
