An event 50 years in the making is now only 50 days away! That’s right, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” begins on Oct. 1, honoring the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.

This 18-month event will feature new experiences at all four Walt Disney World theme parks and beyond, where shimmering EARidescent décor will greet you all across The Most Magical Place on Earth. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals will be the hosts of the celebration, joined by Walt Disney World cast members at the heart of this special moment in our history.

We’ve already shared lots of exciting details about what’s in store, including new nighttime spectaculars at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park, the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT and a new daytime show premiering at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. There is much more of this story left to tell, and we’ll continue that tale tomorrow here on the Disney Parks Blog and keep going throughout the next 50 days right up to the big moment on Oct. 1.

Can’t wait for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration to begin? You don’t have to! Starting today, you can get select pre-celebration must-haves throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

So, keep checking back with us early and often here on the Disney Parks Blog to learn more about “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” and follow #DisneyWorld50 to make sure you don’t miss a moment!

  • My dreams came true on 2015 when I traveled to disney for the first time. I’m from Brazil and I was birth on October 1st, 1982. It would be a dream to celebrate my birthday in Disney Parks and to see all these wonderful attractions and magic. I hope to return in 2023, if possible. This year I will celebrate our birthday with joy and happiness.

  • We plan to be there in October-but we need the Canadian land border to open up and let us in!

  • I’ll be there in 51 days! I’m a Disneyland girl through and through, but I’m beyond excited to finally visit Disney World!
