We can’t wait to welcome you to Walt Disney World Resort as we kick off our 50th anniversary celebration on Oct. 1! If you’re staying in the magic at one of our Disney Resorts Collection hotels, we have extra pixie dust waiting for you during this celebration.

Hopefully you’ve heard about our early theme park entry benefit for Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels, which will give you the first chance to enjoy select attractions at every theme park, every day. And if you’re staying at one of our Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort hotels, you can also enjoy extended evening hours on select nights in select theme parks beginning in early October.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! In addition to this special access to our theme parks, your Disney Resort will be serving up some special moments, with surprise appearances from some of your favorite Disney friends, donning their dazzling EARidescent best. These pals have a lot of character, and they’re not the only ones! With shimmering new nametags, our legendary cast members are the heart of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration and are eager to share a little bit of their world with you during this special time.

To check out all this ‘world’ has to offer, you can enjoy the ease and comfort of our complimentary on-site transportation. Soon you may even get to ride in sparkling style with new 50th artwork on select Disney Skyliner cabins, Disney Transportation buses and one of our special monorails. Wave hello if you see these shimmering vehicles whizzing by!

Haven’t decided where to stay yet? Check out some of our newly reimagined guest rooms at our two original hotels. There’s an all-new retro-modern flare at Disney’s Contemporary Resort … trust me when I say that it’s incredible! All rooms in the tower will feature a sleek Monorail motif with some favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ Incredibles films that will carry through guest corridors. Meanwhile, the resort lobby will display a collection of modern art along with historical photographs of this beloved resort while under construction before opening to guests in 1971.

Or if you’re looking for an iconic stay that will let you relax with the colors and vibes of the Pacific, consider sailing over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, with newly reimagined rooms where you can find details inspired by the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana.” The resort’s brand-new entrance was completed earlier this week as well, welcoming you with Pacific island accents that you’ll even notice in the newly decorated Monorail station before you ride high in the sky to your next destination.

And when you’re relaxing back in your guest room, you can take in the ambiance while you enjoy a cup of coffee, brewed right from the comfort of your room with a special Joffrey’s Coffee blend made just for the Walt Disney World 50th celebration! This blend is also available to purchase if you want to keep the celebration going after you return home.

There are lots of special touches to be found at these and all our Disney Resort hotels during our Walt Disney World 50th celebration. On behalf of our more than 65,000 cast members, we hope you choose to stay in the magic with us soon! #DisneyWorld50

  • For what you are charging and also taking away, that is gonna be a no for this WDW loving family. Fortunately I also have coffee in my kitchen.

  • Wow. Shiny artwork? Special coffee in my hotel room? And extra magic “hours” that are now just extra magic “minutes?” Can’t wait to pay $700/night for such special pixie dust!

  • Welcome to the blog Ms. Brie!

  • Returning in October for not only MK 50th anniversary but to celebrate my first visit 50 years ago for my high school graduation trip with my parents.
We were big Walt Disney fans in my family and we’re super excited about WDW opening up within only 2 days driving distance.
That trip was memorable in many ways.
Having lunch with my parents during a thunderstorm in The Crystal Palace, a cast member clearing our table said to me “Isn’t it amazing how they can actually make it seem like it’s lightning and thunder outside?
For a split second I believed him because it seemed anything was possible in the Magic Kingdom.
I sure hope that Magic lives on and doesn’t fade away with Walt’s original concept and dream of a place where ALL families can go to have fun together.
I don’t think he would want that dream to be out of reach for some by just catering to those with big $$$$.
Looking forward to our visit in October and hoping the Magic is still there.

  • Well I hope you have special stockpiles of 50th Anniversary toilet paper, because for $500/night you better believe I’m gonna power chug so much of this limited edition coffee that I’m gonna blow the doors off my resort room bathroom.

  • Now let’s see what Disney has taken AWAY from resort guests: DME starting 2022, 1h morning EMH, 2h evening EMH for us poor guests who can’t afford Deluxe, 180 days ADR, 60 days FPP reservation so that we could actually plan our vacation, streets performers. Essentially a big part of the magic. No coffee will replace what was taken away

  • Now let’s share what you have taken AWAY from resort guests: DME starting 2022, 1h morning EMH, 2h evening EMH for us poor guests who can’t afford Deluxe. 180 days adr, 3 FREE FPP everyday 60 days in advance so that we could actually plan our vacation, street performers. So, as others have mentioned, coffee doesn’t cut it…

  • Do you really have so little to offer resort guests now that you want us to get excited about making coffee in our rooms?

  • I am confused by a blog post that seems to highlight new cast member name tags and coffee as the only new items?
