Our Class of 1971 keeps Walt Disney’s dream alive by creating timeless memories and magical moments for our guests at Walt Disney World Resort. Today we want to celebrate a special cast member, who just recently celebrated her 50th anniversary and is no exception to making Walt Disney’s vision a reality.
Earliene Anderson started her Disney career in September of 1971, planning and preparing for the opening of Walt Disney World shops, resorts and more. Continuing her Disney journey, Earliene held many more jobs within the company before landing at her current role in merchandise at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
“I’ve enjoyed my jobs all these years, but the real joy is seeing the guests,” said Earliene. “That’s my priority. Giving them 150% when I come into work. It’s easy for me to show and give them an experience they will never forget.”
Earliene has always had a love for Disney. From her first visit to Disneyland in 1969, she was inspired by the beauty and pixie dust around her. Earliene knew from that moment that she always wanted to work for The Walt Disney Company and luckily for her, two years later she would be part of the opening team.
Earliene’s dreams and love for Disney resonated with her family, who love visiting with her throughout the years. “‘it’s a small world’ has been my favorite ride all these years. It’s always the first stop of each trip I take with friends and family, and I love directing guests that way as I work at the Contemporary.”
As we continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, we recognize Earliene and her joyful spirit. When asked about all the ongoing festivities, Earliene stated how magical, spectacular, and joyful it has been and will be for the next 18 months. “I’ve been overwhelmed with joy being here all this time. Loving my guests, making them feel special, and making their vacation a memorable one they won’t forget.”
“It will always be overwhelming to see the expansion of all the growth [at Walt Disney World Resort]. Any job that anyone can desire is here at [Walt] Disney World, so I encourage the young ones and the retirees to come down and join us. Have fun. It is a dream that Walt dreamed and we are doing it. Oh, what a joy it is to be a part of Disney.”
