For me, it’s all about discovery. Whenever I visit a new destination, I absolutely thrive on discovering its distinctive characteristics. Take the Galapagos Islands, for example. It truly is a place unlike any other that has inspired many an explorer, scientist, researcher, photographer, traveler … you name it!

With National Geographic Expeditions, travelers can venture aboard the National Geographic-Lindblad fleet and experience this one-of-a-kind destination alongside a dynamic team of world-renowned explorers and expert naturalists who know all about visiting —  and protecting — this legendary archipelago.

Each day of the expedition cruise itinerary is unique, showcasing the fascinating relationships between natural habitats and their animal inhabitants, including giant tortoises, sea lions, and, my personal favorite, a curious seabird known as the blue-footed booby! The best part is that no trip is exactly the same. The day’s program is purposefully designed to be flexible so that travelers can take time to fully appreciate the extraordinary wildlife of the region.

While nature guides the way, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy, including kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, riding in glass-bottom boats, visiting historical and cultural sites and hiking. And of course, there’s always time to relax and unwind after an action-packed day, taking in the ocean view from the comfort of your cabin.

Sounds picture-perfect, right? Well, National Geographic-Lindblad certified photo instructors will also be along for the voyage to share their favorite tips and help travelers capture those unforgettable moments.
