July 14 holds a special place in the hearts of French people as the country celebrates its national day, Bastille Day. Traditionally a bank holiday, all villages, towns and cities across France celebrate the occasion with incredible parties and dazzling fireworks which are enjoyed from day until night.
At Disneyland Paris, this is no different! There is so much French-inspired fun to be enjoyed at the parks today. Let’s take a look at how guests can celebrate Bastille Day at Disneyland Paris.
1. Meet Minnie Mouse in front of an iconic Parisian background
A celebration at Disneyland Paris is not complete without our favorite Disney characters! Guests can head over to Studio Theater in Walt Disney Studios to celebrate with Minnie Mouse and friends as they don their marvelous Parisian outfits in front of a beautiful backdrop featuring the most famous Paris sights, including Sacré Coeur and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Complete with a heart-themed dress and Eiffel Tower hat, Minnie’s special outfit will make guests say “Ooh la la” while they capture the memories of Bastille Day at Disneyland Paris with a Meet and Greet with Minnie.
2. Grab a Parisian souvenir to commemorate the holiday
What better way to remember the Bastille Day celebrations at Disneyland Paris than with a Parisian-inspired souvenir? Unique to Disneyland Paris, the chic ‘Minnie Parisian’ collection is the perfect memento and the collection can be found at various stores throughout the parks. From beautiful homeware that will wow dinner guests, to must-have accessories to complete any Minnie-inspired outfit, the collection is not to be missed.
3. Indulge in French cuisine at a Parisian Bistro
A busy day in the parks calls for a recharge at one of Disneyland Paris’ dining experiences — and there is no better way to celebrate Bastille Day than with traditional French cuisine. Guests can shrink down in size and head over to Bistrot Chez Rémy to dine in this incredible Parisian Bistro that will transport diners straight into the world of Disney and Pixar’s “Ratatouille.” With oversized cocktail umbrellas and bottle cap chairs, guests can step foot into Remy’s world and enjoy his delicious French-inspired menu, from seasonal salads to the famous ratatouille.
Or, guests can embark on a grand tour of French cuisine and taste traditional dishes from around the country at Rendez-Vous Gourmands in Walt Disney Studios Park. Tasting delicious crepes from Brittany to savory choucroute from Alsace, there’s something for all to enjoy. Bon appétit!
4. Delight in dazzling fireworks
After a relaxing and delicious meal, guests can round off an incredible day at Disneyland Paris with a spectacular firework display over Sleeping Beauty Castle. For the special occasion, Disneyland Paris will treat guests to not only one firework display but two! Following the fan-favorite “Disney Illuminations,” guests can marvel at a second display of the night to commemorate Bastille Day from 11.30 p.m.
