With her iconic and joyous laugh, Disney California Adventure park custodial lead Karen Rios shares how she feels like a “super hero in disguise” as she performs her role each day. As part of the “Department for Damage Control” for Avengers Campus, Karen takes pride in her responsibilities in custodial and looks at them as opportunities to be a storyteller while interacting with guests, ensuring they have a great experience.

“What does making magic mean to me?” Karen shares, “I am a storyteller. I am a dreamer. I am an adventurer. I am a super hero. I get to take my crew, my team, and we just have an adventure each and every day with the guests. It is wonderful to be able to just come to work and play.”

Karen has loved stewarding Walt Disney’s legacy of cleanliness over the past seven years as part of the custodial team. With her crew as a second family, Karen’s favorite parts about being a lead and trainer are building relationships with her team and watching them grow in their careers.

Disneyland Resort is proud to have a cast member like Karen who leads her group of heroes with such passion and joy in her work.  This is a day in Karen’s Disney Cast Life.
