Aloha!

Nothing makes us happier than adding more wonderful offerings and opportunities to make lifelong memories at Aulani Resort, A Disney Resort & Spa. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the reopening of our signature oceanside restaurant ʻAMA ʻAMA, returning as a newly reimagined, dinner-only dining experience this fall!

Soon to be unveiled, ʻAMA ʻAMA will feature a new, upscale dinner-only menu backed by a dynamic culinary team that invigorates each locally-inspired dish, cocktail, wine, and dessert with the Disney service and attention to detail guests have come to know and love at Aulani Resort.

Through collaborative efforts led by Disney Imagineer Jeanette Lomboy, guests with a careful eye will notice familiar details seemingly left by generations of family members, including our own beloved Aunty and Uncle, who lived in this space and continued to expand on it over time. New light fixtures inspired by traditional Hawaiian fish baskets and an alluring central light fixture composed of fin-like elements that swim above the entrance, enhance the connection between the restaurant and its namesake, the ‘ama‘ama fish –historically the most abundant and vital fish of Hawai‘i. We are excited to welcome you and your ʻohana back to ʻAMA ʻAMA to celebrate and enhance your vacation dining experience.

‘AMA ʻAMA restaurant is located adjacent to Off the Hook in the Waikolohe Valley pool area, near the entrance to the beach, and the grand opening is slated for fall 2022. More information about the menu and reservations will be released at a later date, so be sure to stay updated on The Disney Parks Blog!

  • I agree with William: one of the highlights for us staying at Aulani was getting the Japanese breakfast at ‘Ama ‘Ama, and watching the sun rise over the lagoon, a perfect way to start the day. I hope they bring the breakfast back by the time we next visit.

  • Any update on when Ama Ama will be open? I am heading there this fall and would love to make a reservation for dinner!

  • Dinner only? Sad. IMHO, Ama Ama had some of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had while traveling, and the castmembers who served treated us more like friends than customers.

Will that mean that the Mahahiki will be the only sit-down restaurant open for breakfast? That’s going to cause a bit of a traffic jam.

  • OMG!!! Yey im so excited, my family & I will be there in September this year so hopefully it’s open by then 😭

  • It is our favorite dinner spot at Aulani. We have seen many beautiful sunsets at that beautiful restaurant. We have missed Aulani the last few years due to Covid. But look forward to come back and so glad it is reopening this fall
