The Lunar New Year is a special time for me as we celebrate Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures and usher in new beginnings, good luck, health and prosperity for the coming year.

Since Lunar New Year has started, we thought Disney Parks Blog readers would enjoy a few wallpapers and backgrounds to celebrate! These new Disney backgrounds are our first Lunar New Year wallpapers and they’re available now in various sizes for your iPhone, desktop, or device of choice to show your festive spirit.

As an Asian American and member of FAMASIA, a Business Employee Resource Group for Disney cast members, it’s important to me to be able to celebrate the culture that I’m so proud of and reconnect with all the amazing parts of my heritage. FAMASIA has a mission to inspire a community environment that celebrates the uniqueness and authentic representation of the Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander cultures, and we are delighted to further extend this representation throughout the company and community. In honor of our mission, let’s take a look at the celebratory wallpapers for the Lunar New Year!

Our first wallpaper for phones and watches features Mickey Mouse happily celebrating the Lunar New Year atop a bright red background for good fortune and joy!

If you’re looking for more Year of the Rabbit wallpapers and backgrounds, Duffy’s friend StellaLou is here to add some cheer to your year! StellaLou is a cheerful, lavender rabbit that loves to dance. In the featured design, she’s dancing off to the side, which makes it a great background for Zoom meetings and virtual conferencing. Finally, for those celebrating Year of the Cat on the Vietnamese calendar, we have delightful Disney Year of the Cat wallpapers and backgrounds.

Now that you have your wallpaper needs covered, here are some additional opportunities to keep the festivities going! Disney Parks around the globe are celebrating with delicious eats and treats that salute Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other Asian cultures. Check out the Disney Eats Lunar New Year Foodie Guide to see a full list of offerings located at Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Shanghai Disney Resort! Be sure to head over to Disney California Adventure Park to catch “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” hosted by Mulan, Mushu, and parade performers parading from Paradise Gardens through Hollywood Land. Once you’ve feasted on the delicious food items, try to catch the returning nighttime water show, “Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration”, a heartwarming story of a lantern’s journey to reunite with family.
