In case you are not familiar, “The Parent Test” on ABC, is a new reality series that has put 12 families under the microscope in the ultimate parenting stress test that compares multiple styles of parenting. Throughout the season the families were put through various situations to foster conversations about how each unit operates. They shared their learnings and discussed many emotional hot-button topics. Host Ali Wentworth and parenting expert Dr. Adolph Brown moderated these impassioned conversations amongst parents who may have had conflicting opinions on how to raise their families, but they all shared the common goal of raising happy, healthy children.

Now, after a season that explored many distinctively different parenting styles; from “helicopter” to “child-led” parents and more, it all comes down to three, and what better way to both reward and put parenting styles to the test, than a trip to the Disneyland Resort!

The Wynne family, who use a “new age” parenting style, has already been selected by their peers to move into the finals. Tomorrow’s episode will reveal the other two that will join them in the front row hotseat. The final challenge of the season, Joyride, will see how the final three parenting styles manage their time and make decisions and compromises to keep everyone happy at the Happiest Place on Earth. And in the end, one family will take home the title of the Most Effective Parenting Style.

Don’t miss the Season Finale of “The Parent Test – America’s Most Effective Parenting Style” TOMORROW at 9:00/8:00c on ABC and the next day on Hulu! Tune in and follow along with the social conversation using the hashtag #TheParentTest

  • Great show. Our family watched it together and paused to talk about the challenges. The Wynne family was a clear winner for us from the start. They had multiple young children and their kids passed all the tests. We identify with High Achievement and New Age. The McCoy family is also a good winner, but the children’s age difference and the number of children made the judging scale difficult. We were excited to learn Andrea was pregnant, but questions were raised about her partner. Is she single? Does she have a partner? That also determines the decision. If she has a partner, why wasn’t he shown? If you removed the Free Range father and the New Age father how are the women and children being judged then? Is one teen child harder to raise than 4 multichhanged children and 3 young children? Which children would know the lessons or forget the lessons?
These were our family’s questions and how we came to our chosen winner. Disney continues to produce well-thought-out material that all families can relate to. Our family sees the positive in all
