It’s almost time to assemble for the premiere of Rogers: The Musical at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure park! As part of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, this all-new, one-act live theater production will perform for a limited-time engagement from June 30 through Aug. 31, 2023.

As we previously shared, this classic tale of heroes, time travel and romance features a talented cast of singers and dancers telling the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America, joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury and select members of the Avengers. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the action!

If you’re just as excited for the show as I am, here are the top four details to know before you go:

1. A timeless story of a timeless hero, “Rogers: The Musical” has something for everyone

Exploring universal themes of heroism, romance and self-discovery, “Rogers: The Musical” is an exhilarating and heartfelt experience for Super Hero fans, theater enthusiasts and families alike. Avengers aficionados will appreciate creative interpretations of iconic objects and moments from Steve’s journey, while theater fans will love the eclectic array of musical styles in the score and the show’s original choreography.

“Rogers: The Musical” at Disney California Adventure park is inspired by the fictional Broadway musical theater sequence featured in the first episode of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” This new musical project will come to life through the creativity of Disney Live Entertainment in partnership with book writer Hunter Bell, star and book writer of the Tony Award-nominated “[title of show],” and will feature five all-new songs with music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Lennertz and lyrics by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz and Alex Karukas. Plus, fan-favorites songs “Save The City” from the Disney+ series “Hawkeye” (written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman), and “Star Spangled Man” from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger” (written by Alan Menken and David Zippel).

2. Joining the complimentary virtual queue on the Disneyland app is highly recommended

“Rogers: The Musical” is scheduled to perform several times per day, Tuesday through Saturday most weeks during its limited-time engagement, June 30-Aug. 31, 2023. You’ll be able to access viewing areas for “Rogers: The Musical” through a virtual queue system* available only via the Disneyland app.**

Each day that “Rogers: The Musical” is performing, distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at 10:30 a.m. PT for the first two show times of the day and 2 p.m. PT for the remaining show times of the day.

How-to details on the virtual queue system are available at Disneyland.com. Joining the virtual queue is not required to view “Rogers: The Musical,” but it is highly recommended. If the virtual queue reaches capacity, you can check in at the Hyperion Theater before “Rogers: The Musical” begins for any walk-up viewing options.

  • Disney, I’m begging you, please keep Rogers: The Musical going through the end of the year!!! My mom and I are coming early October for Halloween and would love to see this! I love Marvel so Avengers Campus was like a dream come true for me but I feel like it is still missing a lot. You guys put a lot of hard work into shows like this and costumes for all the superheroes just to end this after 2 months and only ever have Black Widow, Black Panther and Spider-Man doing meet and greets. I would really love to see you guys use more of what you’ve made to really enhance the experience of Avengers Campus to a place I could spend all day in.

  • Hi,

Can someone tell me if buying the Premium Viewing Package guarantees a seat or if you have to do the virtual queue anyway?

    Thanks

  • With such a short run, I won’t bother paying any attention to it since it will be history before I can get out to California. I guess this was just something for local guests.

  • It was incredibly disheartening to hear that after using Kaylee Bays in your promos to promote Rogers and promising her a permanent role you went back on your promising and now she will barely make any appearances, if we’re lucky. It is so important for young Disney fans to know what they’re capable of and what they can achieve despite the obstacles in the way, and you are now deliberately sending the message that Disney money is above the Disney magic inclusivity creates. Very very disappointed and regretting my recent trip to Disney, won’t be booking again until this is made right.

  • What a bummer! Such a short run. We visit in December for my birthday and was hoping it would stick around.

  • Please extend the run! We booked a trip in October for Oogie Boogie and wanted to catch this so bad!!!!

  • How can the “Rogers: The Musical” Premium Viewing Experience Package be purchased?

  • Hello!
Will the “Rogers: The Musical” Premium Viewing Experience at the Studio Catering Co be offered on the day for that days’ performances or can it be purchased in advance?
    Thank you!

  • I’m hoping for an extended run, too. I’ll go ahead and blow my birthday wish right now on hoping to get to see this for my birthday trip in September!!!

  • Will there be any recording restrictions?

  • Dang it! I was really hoping it would run thru the official end of summer in September! I’m so sad I’m gonna miss it. Blocked out for most of the summer when it’s running!

  • Wow! The star and book writer of the Tony Award-nominated “[title of show]”!

  • My friends and I are so excited! We are planning a trip out there just to see this! Are there any more details about the package viewing? Like price or how to book it?

  • Any chance of extending the run? It seems like such a short period of time!
