In 2007, Cheri Srour was a normal happy teen living in Brooklyn, NY. Normal until she was hit with an autoimmune neurological disorder leaving the then 18-year-old in a hospital paralyzed, on a ventilator and fighting for her life. For 10-years Srour has continued that fight by learning to walk again, swallow food and talk. “I basically started my life all over again,” the now 27-year old told me.

Part of her recovery has included participating in the last four runDisney Princess Half Marathons at Walt Disney World Resort, including the event this past Sunday. Her brother in-law Solly Elmann providing the leg power to get her around the 13.1 mile course in a wheelchair.
