Mmmmm! Fresh Veggies, Flatbreads on Magic Kingdom Park Menus

We love a hot order of fries, but these new healthful Magic Kingdom Park sides make us happy – delicious, crunchy veggies that can be paired with some of our favorite vacation bites.
“Fresh

We’re a fan of the Lighthouse Sandwich (hummus and broccoli slaw) and grilled salmon with fresh broccoli at Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square, and now they’ve added fresh broccoli as a side option for any sandwich or entrée. Next time, opt for fresh broccoli to go with the crunchy chicken breast nuggets!

“Fresh “Cucumber “Fresh “Lobster

At Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe in Frontierland, try fresh corn on the cob with the Angus burger – and then load up with fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and more at the fixin’s bar. Over in Tomorrowland, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café has added a cool, crisp cucumber salad and fresh green beans – the perfect accompaniment to the turkey sandwich or the grilled chicken sandwich. Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant has one of our favorite combos: a decadent lobster roll with a side of roasted veggies.

“Barbecued “Caprese “Pepperoni

The new flatbreads at Pinocchio Village Haus are another crowd pleaser, thin-crusted with inventive toppings like the barbecued chicken flatbread with chicken, red onions, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses and a mango barbecue sauce. Or the Caprese flatbread with plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, a blend of shredded mozzarella and Parmesan, balsamic glaze, and fresh basil. Kiddies still love the simple cheese and pepperoni varieties.

No reservations required; these are all quick-service options! Have you tried any and do you have a favorite?

  • This is great news! I’ve always loved the variety of food at Epcot, but found MK a little lacking. Since we’ll be bringing our little one to Disney World for the first time in August, and we’ll be spending much more time in the Magic Kingdom, it’s wonderful to know that there will be healthier choices for her there.

  • Love the new sides! It will be so much easier to feed the kids now, and I love vegetables too and always miss them when eating out!

  • We were at WDW in February of ’11 and I was on WeightWatchers at the time. I was surprised at how easy it was to find meals that were good for me and it is nice to see the options are expanding.

  • Awesome! Long ago my family tired of the burgers and nuggets routine and were finding it hard to choose a quick-service mealtime place at places like the Magic Kingdom-though there’s something to be said for living on pineapple swirl!. But as the parks have been adding healthier, more varied, more flavorful options, our food choices have grown apace. Even our longtime favorite Columbia Harbour House just gets better and better!!

  • I am so proud to be a cast memeber of the Walt Disney World. A great idea and so happy that we are helping everyone eat better and feel better each and every day. Specially when they are at the happiest place in the world. Can not wait to try some of the new options.

  • Too bad they aren’t gluten free because theyl look delicious.

  • The flatbread chesse pizza is pretty good as I had it at California Adventure..I do hope it expands throughout the resort.

  • Good for Disney in stepping up to bring healthy and tasty options to the counter service experience !

  • Thank you so much for adding these–especially the broccoli. We’ll be visiting in November and I lucked out with a daughter who LOVES broccoli and cauliflower. It’s so nice to know that we’ll have healthy options that we all enjoy!

  • Loved to see some of these changes during our last visit. Glad to see some changes to the quick service menus. The flatbread is large and full of flavor.

  • I’m loving all the fresh new options at Magic Kingdom!! I have had the salmon with couscous and broccoli at Columbia Harbour House, it was good. And I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster roll also at Columbia Harbour, I didn’t realize they had it in Tomorrowland too. That’s good to know for our next visit in November! We were there for the One More Disney Day and I did enjoy the large meal salad at Pinocchio Village Haus. Don’t get me wrong, I still love going to Plaza Restaurant and enjoying a juicy burger, but its also nice to have other options.
