In the film “Frozen,” Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post is where Anna meets a snow-covered Kristoff, and they set off on an adventure together to find Elsa and stop the eternal winter. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a place inspired by that scene in the film – Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland – will open its doors to offer you adventure starting this Saturday, July 5. Here, you’ll be able to purchase “Frozen” wares, special snacks, take photos and enjoy wintertime fun – including ice skating!

Located inside the Soundstage One building toward the rear of the park, Oaken’s Frozen Funland features a frozen pond where guests can go ice skating. Skating sessions are $10 for 30 minutes on the ice, including the use of ice skates, socks and a helmet. Guests can also bring their own equipment. Oaken’s Frozen Funland will be open daily from park opening to 8 p.m., and skating sessions are available on a first come, first serve basis. (Note: Skating availability may be limited to the sizing of skates. Waivers for all guests are required and minors must have an adult/responsible party age 18 or older present to sign for them).

Inaugural ‘Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome’ Parades Through Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Oaken’s Frozen Funland is just one of several “Frozen”-themed offerings that debut this Saturday, July 5. A “Frozen” fireworks spectacular, For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration, Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome procession, dance parties and more will run through September 1 at the park.

  • We just went to the ice skating rink and saw the most AMAZING ice skating performance! The skaters were really from Norway and the level of skating and interactions was above and beyond. The choreography, the spins, the jumps, the waves…… We had the chills and the disney magical moments the entire performance. Disney would be silly to get rid of this by September 1! THIS is why we go to Disney. How refreshing to see professionally talented ice skaters at a park. Blown away, best experience EVER!!! Keep this for good Disney,

  • Jennifer — everyone is consistently mentioning about no snacks or desserts are really offered in the spectacular event that Disney is charging extra for and says there are snacks included. Can you fill me in on the real deal? What is included with my cost of this extra package? Thank you!!!

  • We visited and skated on opening day! What fun! Adults and children are required to wear helmets. Helmet, skates, and socks are included. Skates begin at a toddler’s size 9. I usually wear a size 7 women’s shoe, but I wore size 5 ice skate here. We were there in the first group admitted in the morning. We were able to book a return time slot for skating later in the day. Wonderful experience!

  • What are the sizes of skates available?

  • Are the helmets required for adults, Jennifer?

  • Can you reserve skating or so you just show up and hope for the nest in terms of space?

    • You cannot reserve skating or book ahead, just show up. Please keep in mind that skates are limited, and certain sizes may be more popular than others.

  • Please extend this through the 2014 Holiday season! We will be there in November and my kids would LOVE to be a part of this!!

  • Will there be any frozen styled Magic Bands for sale, like the Star Wars ones?

    Thanks

    • Stay tuned – that’s all I can say!

  • Just booked for August!!! So excited! It shows up in MDE as an ADR for the Dockside Diner. If you click on it, it then calls it the Feel the Force package. I guess it’s so new they didn’t change the names yet. lol

  • I can’t wait to see if the popularity of this will carry it into November.. This would be great with all the Christmas decor 🙂 🙂

  • Is the cost of skating reduced if you bring your own skates, wear your own socks, and don’t want to wear a helmet? Are helmets optional? They should be, espec. for adults. I know how to skate well and don’t need a helmet. Also, is there a cast member discount? One member of our family is a cast member.

    • The cost is $10 to skate with your skates or ours. Equipment is complimentary if you need it.

  • It’s nice they are providing socks for people who might enter the park in flip-flops, but — silly question — are they one-use only socks????

    • You actually get to keep them when you’re done. 🙂

  • I really hope Disney will add all of these fun activities in December around Christmas week!

  • Any word on what the special snacks will be?

  • I’m so happy this is happening!

Disney should consider ice skating in the magic kingdom for Christmas sometime. That’d be amazing!

  • Thanks for the exciting information!! Do you know if these festivities will be available during extra magic hours?? Thank you in advance 🙂

    • Please check the Times Guide or the My Disney Experience app for the most updated information.

  • Is the Fireworks display only on July 5th? Or will they be every night til Sept. 1???

    • Every night through September 1, with the exception of August 23 since the park is hosting Unleash the Villains that night.

  • We will definitely add this activity to our list if you offer it through November. . . .

  • Will this only be taking place through September 1 as well or will this be open for the long term?

    • All “Frozen” Summer offerings will take place at the park through September 1, including ice skating.

  • let”s hope this is such a big hit that it is continued on for next year when I am planning another visit. Sad that something like that is not offered at Disneyland but maybe in the future. Can’t wiat to see all the new changes that have happened
