Guys and ghouls, Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is creeping up. It’s never too early to start planning Halloween costumes, especially if you plan to attend Mickey’s Halloween Party. Looking for inspiration? Why not your favorite Disney characters?

For your prince or princess (3–12 years of age), visit Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland in Disneyland park and watch as they transform before your very eyes into Halloween Minnie, a Knight or their favorite princess. Fans of Anna, Elsa & Olaf (ages 3-15) should definitely plan a quick trip to Anna & Elsa’s Boutique in the Downtown Disney District for “cool” tips and tricks for the Halloween season. Special tip: A Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Glow Stick or Skull Glow Stick is a perfect way to light your path to Halloween adventure at home or at the Disneyland Resort!

Of course that’s not all – there’s more Halloween fun brewing. As you can see, I had some help from fellow Disney Parks Blog author Tyler Slater and Merchandise Marketing “Ghost Host” Ashley Cortez who took their roles all too seriously. So this year if you choose not to dress up, we have a few tips for you on how you can show your Disney Side. Costume T-shirts and fleece (for adults and youth) inspired by a few not-so-scary classic characters including Buzz Lightyear, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as well an array of intergalactic-inspired apparel and accessories will help you pay Halloween homage in a frightfully fun way. Find all of these and more for the entire family at select locations throughout the Disneyland Resort this August. Tips: Attraction-inspired T-shirts also work well; as you can see, we found these “haunting” T-shirts at Port Royal. If you seek something more subtle, try new headwear on for size – it’s themed to Halloween and the perfect fit for a night of haunting fun.

Don’t forget to dress your pets! Treat your furry friends to something spook-tacular this season – by adding a little “character” to their look with our Disney Tails Collection. Even Ashley’s dog Nala couldn’t resist showing us her Disney Side in a sparkly sequin bow with her favorite Minnie Mouse shoe toy. Curious as to where they’re available? We found the entire collection at Atwater Ink & Paint on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park, but be sure to check out other locations throughout the Disneyland Resort including World of Disney Store in the Downtown Disney District.

Are you ready for Halloween? How will you show your Disney Side?

  • I am dressing as a 1950’s Mouseketeer.
I am so excited and this is my second
    Disneyland Halloween Party, but the
1st one I have gone solo to.

    • Excellent choice Nicole!

  • DISA — If the MHP you are attending starts at 7 p.m., your MHP ticket would allow you access to Disneyland at 4 p.m. If it’s a night when the party begins at 6 p.m., the MHP ticket would get you in at 3 p.m.

You can ride anything in those 3 hours leading up to when MHP begins, but the lines will probably be shorter for certain rides if you wait to ride them after the party has begun.

Michelle — Thank you so much for answering my question about Pirates League! 🙂

    • Sherry, thanks for answering Disa, that’s a great help!

  • I purchased Mickeys Halloween party tickets when we go for Halloween this year, what is the earliest we would be able to get into the park? Can we walk around and attempt rides (depending on times) while we wait for the “party” to start? Or only assigned to a specific spot?

  • Hi Michelle! Any idea if the Mad T Party at DCA will be partaking in the Haloween festivities this year? Halloween is my favorite time of year, and the spooky T Party is the best thing in the whole resort! Thank you for your time to put this article together; I’m in love with those Haunted Mansion tees!

    • Hey Rachel! You know, I haven’t heard, but if I do, I will certainly update this answer for you.

  • I’m going to Disney World in October and I’m going to Mickey’s not so scary halloween party and I would like to know when they start posting what merchandise they’re going to have or do I have to wait till I get there to find out?

    • Hi Kristin, hopefully we’ll have some details for you shortly. I know you can expect to find Mickey’s Not So Scary tees, ornaments and pins, so be sure to keep an eye out for them while you’re there.

  • Did not see an answer to Amy’s question about the Halloween Jamboree coming back to Big Thunder Ranch. My favorite part of this season is seeing the pumpkin carvers creating their Disney masterpieces. Nothing was mentioned in any of the previews of Halloween at the Park.

    • Hi Dannie! I don’t have any details on any of the activities, but I know they are extremely popular with our Disney fans.

  • Halloween Time in the Park is one of my favorite time of the whole year. The Haunted Mansion is usually the first ride of my visit! Sets the mood for the whole trip!

  • We are putting the finishing touches on Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear costumes – we cannot wait for Halloween Time at Disneyland!

    • Kate, I love it! That’s so creative and fun!

  • Coming to our first party on October 2! Not sure what I’ll be wearing but I’m definitely looking forward to it!

    • Jodie, you’ll love it! There’s nothing like it.

  • I’m finishing up sewing costumes for my friends, who we’re going as some of the lovely ladies from Once Upon A Time, and family, as characters from the live action Cinderella. It’s going to be extra special since it’s going to be my baby cousin’s first trip to Disneyland for her first birthday. She’s going to be a very cute Cinderella. Can’t wait for Halloween Time at Disneyland.

    • Wow! Ana, that sounds great! What a fun and creative idea!

  • Hi Jayna! Port Royal is one of our store locations located next to Pieces of Eight near the exit to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. They have so many items available there, you’ll have to check it out on your next visit.

  • What’s Port Royal? I couldn’t find anything on google. Can you provide a link or a description? thanks!

  • Michelle — Will Pirates League be returning for Halloween Time this year? I notice that it is not mentioned above as being an option for a Disney Side Halloween Time makeover.

    • Hi Sherry! I don’t believe The Pirates League will be returning this year for Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, however if you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World, you can definitely make reservations there.

  • OMG I have to have those HMH shirts!
Will they be on the Disney Store (online)? When?
Will they also come in kids sizes?

  • James’ wife here – is Nala a Basenji? What a pretty pet!

    • Isn’t Nala beautiful? She was quite the star. She’s actually a mix breed.

  • Hi Michelle, do you know if the Halloween Carnival is coming back to Big Thunder Ranch this Halloween season?

    • Hi Amy! Unfortunately I have no details at this time, but I’m sure that if and when they do announce anything it will be on the Disney Parks Blog.

  • Forgot to add… costumes are a racing theme inspired by Vidia.

  • Got our costumes completed and excited about our first Halloween Party!

    • Wow Ricky, I’m definitely jealous of how prepared you are. I know you’ll have a blast!
