More Guest Experiences and Dining Options Coming to Disney’s Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach Resorts

Whenever it’s time to share exciting news about a new expansion project, I remember one of my favorite Walt Disney quotes. “We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Today, we are thrilled to share with you that changes are on the horizon at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort over the next two years and let me tell you, there is a lot to be excited about!

The expansion at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will include a new 15-story tower that will add 500 rooms, featuring suites and concierge level services. The resort will also refurbish its current resort rooms and transform its landscape with floating gardens and an island oasis that connects the resort through a series of bridges.

Also during this exciting time, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be reimagined with new additions to the resort’s current marketplace, Centertown, including new waterfront dining and retail shopping areas. This centralized location will offer the resort’s guests more convenient access to services, amenities and dining.

At Walt Disney World Resort, many of our guest’s magical memories start at one of our 27-themed resorts each and every day, which is why we will always continue to “move forward” and “create new experiences” that are integral to the overall resort experience!

We can’t wait to share more with you as these projects come to life!

  • Does anyone know what the food options and price point will be at Caribbean Beach during the renovations? Will dinner be considered quick service or table service? I have a room booked there in July and would like to figure out where we will be dining and whether it’s worth it to get the dining plan or pay as we go. I wonder if the Caribbean springs will offer competitive price points for dining considering the refurbishments?

  • Staying at coronado springs for our honeymoon september 19th to the 25th and am kind of concerned not knowing where our room is as the construction is going on.

  • This is the first time we get to stay at a Disney Resort. We were looking forward to have the full Disney experience. We were even planning to have a resort day at Caribbean Beach to enjoy the pool and dinning venues.

    Very disappointed.

  • I am booked to go to Coronado Springs in May and have been told the renovations won’t affect our holiday. Really hope this is the case. I have seen a few posts on YouTube and doesn’t look promising!

  • I have massive concerns at the minute. We are due to stay at coronado springs in November. We booked this a year ago and had I have known I would have chosen a different resort.
I really hope this does not affect our stay as we only get a holiday every few years.

  • Is Geoffrey Pointon not going to answer any of our concerns ?

  • Can you please confirm that there will be no work at Caribbean Beach Resort prior to May 1? I received an email from Disney Destinations on 2/21 indicating that there would be disruptions during my stay (which ends 4/30). I’m reading inconsistent reports online of some guests being given compensation for disruptions for pre-May stays and others who are being told they will not be affected (which is what my travel agent was told).

  • Will they be including any Vacation Club Rooms in this project?

  • Staying in September, never mentioned it when we booked. Would like to know what impact we can expect, dining is paramount. Being disabled our daughter would be distressed by ghenghis construction.

    Staying at caribbean beach resort

  • Will there be a negative impact due to the construction? We were planning on staying at Coronado Springs about a year from now and now I’m second guessing!

  • Please Disney, create more rooms at these resorts that can hold families of 5 like mine. The deluxes are just too pricey for us, but a moderate is right in our budget. Plus, we LOVE Coronado Springs. It’s the best!

  • I am really looking forward to this great new option at Coronado. I loved the Business Class option that was available for a while there and look forward to the Concierge services available at this resort in the future. A great option for a great resort!!!

  • While happy to hear that investment will be made in the resorts, we have similar concerns to earlier posts. We are traveling to Coronado Springs at beginning of June. Will Disney let future guests know specifics about the construction including timeline and extent of work? I’d like to have the opportunity to rebook if this work will have a decidedly negative impact on our stay.

  • Rochelle,
It doesn’t appear that there will be a change in theming. Over on the Disney Meetings Blog, they say: “The transformation will stay true to the convention resort theme, reflecting the vibrant spirit of adventure that lived within the Spanish explorers of North America. “

  • Does this mean that the Colonial Mexico feel of Coronado Springs resort will be changing to something more tropical? Coronado Springs is my favorite resort.

  • Will this change the status of the resorts from a Moderate to a Deluxe? The description of what is being added to the Coronado Springs Resort specifically (concierge, suites, rooftop dining) sound more like the offerings of a Deluxe resort.

  • Do you know when this construction work will begin. I am visiting this resort in May I hope major construction work will not be taking place then. I would like to think Disney would contact guests to advise them of major work taking place
