This Fourth of July, Disney Vacation Club Members are invited to celebrate Independence Day in distinctive fashion at the Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Held on July 4, 2019 from 7:30–9:30 p.m., this Membership Magic event will include a buffet of small bites and desserts, along with beer and wine for those ages 21 or older, of course.

Capping the intimate gathering is “Disney’s Celebrate America!—A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” While this holiday fireworks spectacular promises to draw capacity crowds to Magic Kingdom Park, Members attending this special celebration at the Top of the World Lounge will take in the show from the enviable position of the Bay Lake Tower rooftop.

Members can bring up to 5 guests, for a total party size of 6. The event costs $99 (plus tax and gratuity) per person, and Members may call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 for reservations.

And here’s a little trip tip from our friends at Bay Lake Tower. While the Top of the World Lounge will be available exclusively to those attending the aforementioned event, the lounge will remain open to all eligible Members on July 3, which also happens to be a new date for the nearby Disney Vacation Club Fireworks Cruise. Click here to learn more about the cruise.

Whether you let freedom ring from up on the rooftop or from across the lake, all of us at Disney Vacation Club hope you enjoy your salute to all nations…but mostly America.

As a part of Membership Extras, an incidental benefit, these Member benefits are subject to change, availability or termination and may require a fee. Membership Extras are available with eligible ownership interests. Visit http://disneyvacationclub.com/memextraspolicy for more information.

  • I attended this event with my mother, we are both DVC members. She and I thought it was a great event and loved that it was a small and intimate crowd with ease of being able to move around. I look forward to attending next year. It was so great to be away from the crowds and to have a more adult setting!!!

  • Can any DVC member, even if not staying at Bay Lake access the lounge on July 3?

  • As a BLT owner, I find this move to be quite distasteful. I booked BLT for that night and luckily booked a theme park view, so I don’t need to pay the $99 per person fee (plus tax and gratuity) in what seems like an ever-increasing shakedown of DVC members. For my family of four, that would have meant another $400+ out of pocket. Not a small amount.

I feel bad for people who saved their points to stay in a standard or lake view expecting lounge access that evening. If you were going to do this, it should have been a year in advance so people could decide whether a BLT booking would be worth it. Absolutely disgraceful.

  • I specifically booked BLT for the access to TOTW on July 4th. This is highly disappointing and will change my plans for the holiday. Not cool.

  • I always knew that TOTWL was blocked out on July 4th and I suspected it was for an event but releasing these plans so late seems unreasonable. Now we are scrambling to change everything and as a BLT owner I do find it disappointing that the July 3rd and July 4th were not released at the same time so people could decide which they prefer instead of now trying to move dinner reservations etc for a different night. This does not seem like fair or good planning, perhaps for others benefit in the future you can release all of a holidays events at the same time so people don’t go crazy. It would be appreciated.

  • We have had this vacation planned for 7 months. I was upset to find out that the plans we have made are now drastically altered. The firework view from TOTWL was a contributing factor to us booking at BLT. Someone should have let the DVC members with reservations know this was going to happen.

  • I think we need more clarification on this event and access to the lounge. We booked our stay at Bay lake based on access to top of the World Lounge almost a year ago. As a party of 8 I can’t simply spring for this event now that it has been sprung 3 weeks prior. Also to rearrange our plans to the 3rd is really a hassle that will cause us to miss something else we have been looking forward to for a very long time. Also I would assume the crowd will be greater on the third now. I can understand if you announced this months ago, but my bags are packed.

  • My first preference would be viewing from the Top of the World, but if Toap is all that’s available…OK.

  • Does this mean on the 3rd its open to all members staying on-site? This article is very clear that the 4th is restricted 100% but what isn’t clear is the restrictions on the 3rd. Also it really should be clear on DVC’s site on when members can access the lounge especially now that it is moving to a pay for play model.

  • I am sure people in the know are reading these comments. Could someone please clarify if members staying at BLT on points will indeed be shutout of the lounge on July 4? The party only runs for 2 hours, what will become of the other regular operating hours?

  • Toap of the morning to you!

  • Does this mean that even DVC members staying at Bay Lake on July 4th won’t be allowed up to TOTWL that night?

If so, that is truly disappointing. I know Member perks are not guaranteed, but as a BLT owner I am very unhappy with this change.
