Sixteen years ago the first permanent wedding destination at Walt Disney World Resort was built. Disney’s Wedding Pavilion would quickly grow to become a crown jewel and one of our most popular ceremony locations. To commemorate this special milestone, we recently installed striking stained glass windows etched with our signature Cinderella’s Coach.

Take a look back at more memorable moments at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion:

Comments

  • My friend is getting married there tomorrow! I’ve be in the Wedding Pavilion a few times but never for a wedding. I can’t wait!

  • My husband and I were married at the Wedding Pavilion December 2003 and we still try and visit it on every trip. My little girl now dreams of getting married there. My aunt reminded me that as a little girl, I always talked about getting married at Disney World and I am so happy such a beautiful place exists for all the little girls who now dream of the same thing I did!

  • I’m getting married at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion in just 6 weeks and I’m so excited! Dreams really do come true, I’ve been dreaming of this day since I first saw the WP as a little girl. I even have pictures of me trying on Bride ears when I was in high school. Thank you Disney Fairytale Weddings!

  • Since when is 16 years a “milestone” for anything? It’s a nice story, but I don’t buy for a minute that the windows weren’t changed to obscure the view of the upcoming construction taking place at the Grand Floridian.

  • Our daughter was married there in 1998. When the minister asked for the wedding rings, the best man couldn’t seem to find them. He fumbled around and searched his pockets. So did my son-in-law. People in the audience started to take their rings off to help out. At that moment the music played, the doors opened and the major domo walked in with his gold outfit and powdered white wig, carrying a glass slipper with the rings in it. It was a special moment. Everyone that was there that day still talks about it.

  • My wife and I were married there in November 1999. With every visit to WDW since then (and there have been many) we always take a walk over to the pavilion for a visit.

  • My sisters and nieces and I were there for the Royal Wedding and it was so fabulous! What a beautiful place and a special memory. Thanks for hosting us!

  • Are they going to install more of the new windows up by the altar to match? Obviously, not the one that showcases Cinderella’s castle, but the rest of the ones in the alcove that have the old style?

  • My husband and I were married there over 8 years ago, and the sight of it still takes my breath away! I still can’t believe that I got married at such a beautiful venue, not to mention, the happiest place on earth. The addition of the new stained glass windows just makes it even more beautiful. Happy Sweet 16 Wedding Pavilion!!
